'24 MS DL Kamarion Franklin (Ole Miss commit)

Never is a long time. But it’s not happening any time soon. Everyone is poaching South Florida and they have been a poorly coached, undisciplined football team for a LONG time.
And not having a good strong local base of supporters doesn’t help. It’s a private school, with a few big donors. No doubt one day they will figure it out, but with Ruiz and that situation it may be awhile before they do. GBO

Just like us….. they just need a strong administration to go with a good head coach… they will be back in five minutes once that happens.

The academic increases hurt them. They had the same issues we had. They have played boring football for decades. Find a fun brand, and the fans will come.

Aside from taxpayer money, I think it's never wise to count someone else's pockets and I think that applies for a 17 year old who we don't know what is happening at their respective home.

Don't agree with how he goes about his recruiting but, lord knows, it's his decision and there are factors that we may not be privy too. If he wants the bag, it's legal now, all the power to him.

Winning is what sells. That’s the bottom line. But when you don’t have a big fan base pushing to get it right it doesn’t help things. I could care less one way or the other. The Vols are my team, nobody else! GBO!

If we land those three it will be rated an “I don’t give a F about the rating”. Bc we about to destroy some ppl. You get elite dlinemen at Tennessee with Garner and the conference is in trouble.
What you think about this class and last year's class for that matter depends on whether you think their evals of lower rated players were good or not. The recruiting sites had UT at 11th or so. The question is whether the staff was right about these guys or the recruiting sites were: J Smith, Robinson, Keith, Slaughter, Telander, Lang, Duncan, Luttrell, etc. Oh, not to mention UT's portal guys who were almost all rated 3*.

The dividing line is whether you trust the recruiting sites or the staff more.

So freeze hasn't even coached a game yet at AU and is already flipping two 5* and is in full pursuit of Kam... You would think after his punishment he would come in above board at least in the first season but sounds like he's picking up where he left off... If we get beat out again on NIL to AU for a top tier guy.... UGH.
Huh?

You mean if the staff's strategy leads them to NOT overpay for a player then that's a problem? You mean if they refuse to overbid a pretty desperate Auburn program then they aren't doing it right?

Auburn will more than likely have to pay more due to the circumstances there and Freeze's recent history. He is way too easy to negative recruit against and especially for a program living in Saban's shadow. Never interfere with an enemy when they're in the process of destroying themselves....

not completely true on the portal guys
Castles
Thornton
Karic
Norman Lott
All 4 stars coming out of high school on some sites. Thornton consensus.

pili was a 4 star transfer I think.
Pili, Campbell, Jeudy were all 3* on on3's composite. Jeudy got 2* from 247. They also gave Norman-Lott 3*.

What will our class rank if we land Nwaneri, Ross, and Franklin?

2nd request for substantiating a serious potential with Nwaneri. Is the staff or current commit envolvement out there and I have missed it?

Love to have him but just have not seen the common interest like the other two. Cheer me up with some facts other than he is highly rated at a position of need for us.

I mean for the most part I love our evaluations. Of course there’s some I question but I think this staff if recruiting every position at a high level. You can say some previous coaches had good classes but there were always deficient areas, Heupel has done a good job recruiting and through the portal addressing needs.

There was a quote by Price earlier you could find.

I think it’s in Nwaneri’s thread. Basically it’s down to OU/TN and Missouri is a contender now for his services. Supposedly we could know more for sure in the next two to three weeks.

A great place to find out about that type of stuff is the Nwaneri thread.

I like Heupel more than any coach since I started following the Vols including Fulmer and Majors. I think he's a great coach and leader and an outstanding person.

But we won't know for a while how good those evals were/are. I have grown to trust this staff largely because of culture and proven ability to develop guys. But they could be wrong on these guys or even the higher rated guys. A LOT of Jones' 4* guys turned out to be overrated. It happens across CFB. That's part of why I believe those with a proven record of being great at evals like Saban, Smart, et al get a tip of the hat in the ratings for their priority targets. It could well be that UT's 3* guys from last year that landed them at 11th are better than some of Bama's 4* guys that landed them top 3. Time will tell.

If Heupel keeps having success then his targets will get that kind of boost.

Campbell was a 4* on Rivals, Pili was a 3* everywhere, Jeudy was a concensus 3, Lott was a 4* on Rivals and a Transfer 4*, Thornton was a 4* everywhere including a 4* Transfer. Castles was a 4* Transfer and 4* everywhere except Rivals. Karic was a 4* Transferand 4* recruit. We got some nice transfers including the Kicker.
