'24 MS DL Kamarion Franklin (Ole Miss commit)

they just brought the bank on the two 5*'s they just flipped and now bringing the bank for Franklin? Damn, their NIL must have gotten crazy full awful quick... We are missing now on about 3-4 5* players because we won't bring the bank... Heup will have to live and die by this... can't have it both ways--- says they won't overpay for anyone-- that's fine and he's the coach, I am assuming he's that confident in the staff and players he has that we will compete and win at the 5* level (AL, GA, ) with 4* talent...Which he's done so far...

funny all the excuses that are flowing in each thread instantly once a high tier guy goes or is trending to someone else... Obviously we can't get them all, and we don't have unlimited NIL funds, but it's not been a good trend this cycle to see so many elite guys we are missing on that we were once in the lead or top two on... It would be another thing if we were on the outside or just in the mix... Next man up and get the best available player in that position that wants to be a VFL is all we can hope for.
unless it comes directly from the recruits mouth its all an assumption about who actually leads. Anything else is at best third hand information we are getting, or assumptions based on pretty subjective standards. we "know" very little, everybody is assuming, and like the high schoolers we are following we believe that just because a recruit liked our tweet or said something good about us that we are destined to land him as a player. When it could be very far from that. Even coaching involvement is impossible to judge, with the transfer portal angle even if you aren't a real consideration for the recruit as a high schooler, if you can establish a consistent relationship with the guy you can get a second shot where that relationship really matters.

We supposedly lead for Bates, but it comes out afterwards it was always LSU out front, and we just made it a consideration instead of a slam dunk. Assumptions on this site built up to a fever dream of us leading, but it wasn't based on anything but guesses and assumptions by analysts who don't even know if all the kids they rate are even real.

I still see your reading comprehension is lacking...

AU has spend a ton of NIL to flip two 5* players and is looking to land a 3rd with Franklin on NIL?
Have we, or have we not missed on some players due to NIL?
Has Heup said they will evaluate and not overpay? By not overpaying, he will lose out on a few kids and will have to go with next man up?
Are there excuses on a thread from folks once we see we are not going to land the kid?
Has there been a trend this cycle where we are in the lead or in the top two and lose out due to NIL-- at least 3 kids so far?
Next man up is all we can hope for?
Walter Nolen, #1 recruit nationally and from TN, came out and said if it was only about NIL he would have been at UT.

its not the slam dunk you think it is. and it doesn't matter if you bring in talent if they don't fit for some reason, like TAMUs great class.

Yeah, I don't believe Walter Nolen. I think he's a damn liar.

Yeah and he completely and utterly lied. Trust me I may not know much but I know about the Nolen’s

What if I told you that kid was completely and totally FOS? And I mean irreparably FOS.

A zebra can change locations but he can't change his stripes. Auburn unfortunately is paying up because they always have and always have had the means to do so. I think kids that go to play for Rev Freeze unfortunately will regret the decision to take the extra bones up front. I do not think you can put a price tag on what 3 or 4 years with this coaching staff is worth in the long run. Ask Hyatt if he would have won the biletnikoff and got drafted where he did anywhere else. 3 to 4 years of coach RG is worth a ton and could end up making you way more post college football. I can't blame the kid for taking the biggest offer up front as I do not know his family's financial situation but if he stays healthy and pans out, I bet he would be a way higher draft pick in 4 years under Coach RG than at Auburn these days. On to the next one boys!
Some kids say Pay me now, I am not worried about later.

You’re jealous of a program that missed a bowl because they have more than one 5 star committed… yes… we should all be concerned… let’s get on the internet and “raise concern” by telling everyone we should throw money at a bunch of players OR ELSE.

Obviously, if you’re not freaking out about this already then you’re just “making excuses” and you’re not a true “intellectual realist” like this genius is. GET REAL PPL THE HOUSE IS BURNING DOWN!!!!

What some people do not understand is Tennessee is perceived as a top NIL school with what went on with Nico last year. Now some recruits who never intended to come to UT are flirting with us to increase NIL from their preferred schools. Just because a kid visits does not mean he has legitimate interest in us but may be using UT as a bargaining chip.

UT offers kids their value and if the kid does not take it, then they did not want to be here in the first place. This is nothing to panic over. Our staff will develop whatever talent they get. 11-2.

Hugh Freeze recruiting this well before they play even a single snap of Auburn football under his tenure is wild. Guess he has been able to rally the boosters.

He's always been a great recruiter and great coach. He will do well at Auburn. Freeze is who I wanted when we got Heupel. Obviously I'm pleased the direction White went, but at the time I wasn't so sure. They definitely proved me wrong and happy they did.

I didn't want Freeze anywhere near the program with the NCAA already lurking.

My favorite thing on volnation is why we don't break the bank for recruits. My second favorite is why we keep losing them to other schools (the response is almost always because we have to appropriately divide it amongst other people and we're doing it responsibly compared to other schools). My third favorite thing is we (allegedly) spent 8 million on nico.

Combine those three things, and you get something everyone can complain about!

Many Volnation posters don't need any of that alleged info in order to complain incessantly. They just need the sun to rise.

I didn't say he didn't take any money. But he came out and said IF it was the only thing he would be at UT. at the time we were a dumpster fire, and TAMU looked to be on the way up. Its like us asking about why kids are going to Florida right now instead of us.

One of the best negotiators I ever knew (I didn't particularly like him but he was really good) had a saying: "It is our money until we give it away". What he meant is that you only get to spend your money once so you never want to overpay. Did he sometimes lose business? Yes. But he made the company TONS of money by almost always getting the best value.

That's what they're doing... and it is exactly the right thing to build the program. Stop whining.

Freeze has absolutely no scruples or limits…those guys are always good recruiters….It will eventually come crumbling down again.

Negotiating is really quite easy. If you know your product and you've done your homework.

Learning the psychology and using it in practice is the real chess match, in business. Devil's in the details.

Preparation is key in any large negotiation.

Your post makes way to much sense for some to handle. GBO!

Freeze isn’t a great coach. I would say good.
