I’d also like to clarify this: my argument isn’t about Caleb Williams or Drake Maye being better than someone. I was only trying to say that there are extreme cases where talent would win out no matter what program they were placed at. The system may be a more important predictor of future success than stars or position ranking but in extreme cases with extreme talent, they would succeed in almost any system.

There has been some chatter that 2025 quarterback Deuce Knight could end up at Lipscomb but based off people we spoke to later in the week, the chances of that happening have lessened.

It’s not that difficult to understand. Knight is more in the mold of Hooker. More athletic. Where as GMac is more like Nico. More of a pocket passer who has good eacapability when needed. Both are good passers but GMac is more polished.

Now some like to say Knight is perfect for this offense and that’s true. But so is Macintyre. I think you can’t go wrong with either one. But say both Knight and Macintyre wanted to commit now and the coaches could only take one. My bet would be Macintyre. Why? He is the more polished passer.

Honestly Duece is more like a more polished version of Anthony Richardson. Kid is explosive as hell

Yet saying a kid who hasn’t played his Jr season in HS is a more polished version of the 4th overall pick in the NFL draft is still absurd.

I don’t doubt he’s good. But if this were true, he would be the #1 overall player in the country and it wouldn’t be close. Heupel would turn all of his attention to him and GMac wouldn’t be in the picture. Or is someone about to claim GMac is a more polished version of CJ Stroud?

Just because he was drafted 4th doesn’t make him good. Look at past QB’s drafted. See Leaf, Russell and Couch.

See now I’m questioning again if you’re drunk.

If you’re comparing them in HS to Knight, that makes sense. But speaking to when they were drafted you’re comparing the drafted version of those players to Knight.

Leaf, Russell, Couch were all better than current Deuce Knight. The kid hasn’t played his Jr season in HS for crying out loud. What are we doing here?
