'19 MS SDE Jalil Clemons (Memphis signee)

Interesting that the easy response for most teams was he is too small then Pruitt sees a ball player and says let me see if you can play OLB and utilize those pass rush skills and not be undersized.

I was questionable about this one until reading more about him and how he has been showing out and people at the Dallas opening have no clue how he wasn't invited to the Opening when he was the best DL at the event. Along with his HC that has an LSU commit willing to say this kid is better so adamantly.

It was the most talented event of The Opening camp circuit. The fastest man competition featured four guys that ran sub 4.4 40s. The Opening Finals received a whopping 17 new invites from the day. If you aren’t elite, you aren’t standing out in this setting. These are the guys that stood out....

5. Jalil Clemons, DE, Starkville (Miss.) High School – He started the day in the B-group and dominated in 1on1s. He was pulled up into the A-group and dominated again. He had one of the best get-offs at the event and showed great pass-rush instincts and some basketball style edge athleticism. He’s got a host of Group of Five offers at this point.

be forewarned, up until now Clemons hasn't had the pressure applied like he is going to now..expect more offers....it will be a dog fight...no pun intended

Once this guy gets the Pruitt bump you naysayers are going to change your tune...this kid is a helluva player for sure

Read some of the miss st fan reaction on their 247 board. consensus was he is a really good player that they as fans wish could have but understand they have several 4 stars already committed at DE position with more size early.

Good to see those type comments about a kid being really good and underrated instead of "what are they doing"

Tennessee added commit No. 11 Sunday, as unheralded defensive end Jalil Clemons committed the Vols. Clemons’ commitment is a classic example of what happens when prospects come to camp. Tennessee liked Clemons enough to extend an offer back in May, but Saturday’s camp session sealed the deal. The 6-3, 240-pound prospect will convert to outside linebacker in UT’s 3-4 system. He’s quick (4.5 shuttle at NIKE Opening camp) with playmaking ability off the edge.

It sure seems like Pruitt finds the diamonds in the rough and then everyone rides his coat tails chasing his targets.
