'26 MS WR Tristen Keys

You make it sound so easy to be successful. What team do you coach?
I don’t, but a man getting paid 9M a year does and he’s supposed to be an offensive guru, and the offense we’ve had for the last 2 years isn’t an offense an offensive minded coach making 9M a year should be fielding. Especially when it was as good as it was his first 2 years. I know it’s not easy to install a new offense in 2 weeks especially with a fairly young QB. But we could’ve still ran similar concepts of what we typically run, just out of different sets. There’s simple things you can do and he’s paid what he’s paid to come up with an offensive gameplan for these games and he didn’t

He’s paid to win football games. Not make it look pretty while doing it. We are 30-9 over the last 3 seasons.

You are usually pretty level-headed, and I get pushing back on people who are just being over-the-top critical of our current team, staff, and recruiting/portal efforts. But here in the last week, you seem to be taking exception with any sort of criticism, even valid ones.

What gives? Is there not room on the board to fairly question why we can't be better in some areas where we clearly struggled? I'm not talking about emotional, reactionary posts brought on by anger and liquid courage.

Do you really believe we pulled all the right strings and batted 1.000 with every decision, this year? There's nothing that is worthy of questioning at best, and justified criticism at worst?

I know we are all armchair quarterbacking this thing, but some of this stuff is simple enough for even us amateur boobs to recognize as concerning. If the answer each time is simply met with, "Well, we made the CFP and you're not Josh Heupel, so your opinion doesn't count", then why have any discussion, at all?

Having concerns about certain issues and making those known on a fan-run forum dedicated to that very practice isn't necessarily a sign of dissatisfaction with the program, the coach, or direction. Sure, some of these responses are impassioned and rife with hysteria. Blast away at those. It just feels like some others are being equally targeted when they are much more reasonable and discussion-worthy.

JMO...like I said, we've generally gotten along and I've come to know you as being a little more open-minded to a reasonable discussion when presented the opportunity.

It seems more and more folks have taken their eye off the ball. The job is win games and put us in the playoff for the opportunity to compete for championships. Not make it look pretty while doing so.

And I believe Heup has earned the benefit of the doubt by making us a winner once again.

I agree with a lot of the level headed discussion. We need to get more athletic. We lack playmakers at WR. The OL has struggled in pass pro for 2 years now. Nico struggled for much of the season. We could prob use some upgrades on the staff.

Nico did struggle, I think a lot of that was due to not having a clean pocket.OSU chased him all o er the field, Howard could add cream to his coffee before throwing. That scenario wad repeated far too often thru the season

Winning is all that matters. Not fielding top offenses.

It didn’t this year. I’m a “believe it when I see it” type guy. Until I see otherwise I have no reason to believe our passing game will be any better next season simply because everyone is a year older
QB won't be a first-year starter. LT won't be a first-year starter. RT will be starter-worthy

Every position has to be earned, period. There can't be any more playing starters because they are older and have been in the system longer. All positions up for grabs and may the best man win.
