Mullen Out

I don't think Heup goes anywhere as long as Danny is here (provided he doesn't fall off the face of the Earth and DW has to fire him).
Eh hard to say. They could afford to be BFF’s at UCF. Any P5 program used to success and results won’t be as forgiving. Regardless we have no reason to fret today. If we ever find a defense we would be scary.

They are potential candidates for this opening. In line, was the phrase I used. Try reading more closely and holding off on the ad hominems, 'kay??
But you were being critical of Tennessee, for not pursuing those two coaches... but praising Florida, because they might. That doesn't make any sense. Florida didn't pursue them in 2017 either.

... and you don't know what they are going to do. I don't think they hire either one of them.

The problem with Mullen, which we know with certainty now, is that he either does not or cannot recruit.
That is Biden-esque level of incompetence right there too. He can throw a rock in any direction from his house and hit dozens of five star recruits. Hell, I could recruit to Florida.

Ah. Now I see the disconnect. I was referring to THIS hiring cycle at Tennessee. Not when we hired Slingblade.

We have been through so many hires......it has gotten confusing! 😎😎

The point is, the post I replied to, was critical of Tennessee for not pursuing those two coaches in November of 2017. It suggested that the reason they weren't hired was because Tennessee had "pearl clutchers among their $ boosters".

But Florida pursued the same coach that we did (and hired him). Why would that criticism apply to Tennessee, but not to them in 2017?
Well, UT's lack of a pursuit of Kiffin doesn't have anything to do with pearl clutching...he burned us already in 2009. UF I'd say is more likely to pursue him than UT, but I don't think they will.

As for Freeze, he very much was in purgatory in 2017 and had a one-year show cause, so he wasn't being pursued by anybody.

"Slingblade" That's funny right there I don't care who you are.

Hmm, people on this forum called me crazy a few weeks ago when I said Mullen wouldn’t survive and Kiffin would be a top candidate. Remember that Kiffin has experience recruiting in the state of Florida. As far as I’m concerned, this is a wrap.

And we would never beat Florida again in my lifetime.

It would be really bad...for like 3 years. Regardless of his performance, I don't think he'd stay at UF (or just about anywhere) for any longer than that. He's one of these dudes that is always looking for another job, even if they just got to their current job and are happy.

People called me crazy when he was hired and I said he’d be fired for not winning championships.

I think that is wishful thinking. Maaaaaaybe he wants back in The Show.... but I think if he went to FU and started becoming Saban 2.0, he'd stay as long as the dumptrucks full of cash kept coming by his house. And I think he could eeeeeeasily be Saban 2.0 in Gainesville.

I just don't see him being anywhere long-term. He's like a houseguest that wears out his welcome. He doesn't have the discipline and focus to stay somewhere long-term.
