Mustain Gone

Didn't say Mitch could not handle it. I said atleast let your son say something to the coach and not take it into your own hands. That is straight bush league. She complained cause her son was promised to run a offense and they didn't. Meaning her son didn't get to throw the ball as much as she would like. Mom, you have one of the best running backs in the nation and if you have to ride him to win, you do that.

It's a moot point anyway. He would have to sit out two years before he could play for a team in the same conference... unless he pulls a Brent Scheaffer and goes to a JUCO.

Yeah and look how well Brent worked out for Ole Miss, hahaha. I honestly have friends who think Brent would be alot better then Ainge. I am sorry, but I say a big NO.

I thought NCAA rules say he has to sit out 1 season. Why are you saying 2?

I dont think the kid is worth the headache. However, I disagree with most of you because I think he is certainly leaving. He wants to throw the ball all over the place and that is not going to happen at Arkansas. Especially not with his OC leaving.

If he transfers to another school in the SEC he has to sit out 2 years.

Not many people are questioning whether he will transfer, but there is a slim to 0 chance of him transfering to Tennessee because he would have to sit out two years or go JUCO to do it.

Number one, why would we want the kid?

Number two, if he leaves, why wouldn't he go with Malzahn to Tulsa? That is the reason he went to Arky in the first place, was to get to run his beloved offense. He will start immediately at Tulsa, as well. At Arky, he will be competing with Dick for the next few years, and at UT, he would be competing with Crompton.

I really dont understand why mustain isnt at ut right now anyways.......arkansas has always been known as a run dominated offense, and have a reputation for not having much talent at the qb position

I think with the right coach (cutcliffe), mustain could play up to that 5 star potential

He'll probably leave Arkansas, but I don't think Tennessee is in the picture.

If Malzahn would have left a week or even 3 days ago, Mitch would have had a better chance of leaving, he really only had yesterday to find some place because classes start.

I actually feel kinda sorry for him. I think he really wanted to go to Tennessee of ND, but out of loyalty to his HS coach he went with UA and boy, did he get burned. Let's face it, he also probably saved Nutt's job with his commit.

I feel the same way, he's lost the most in this situation.

He turned down ND to follow Malzhan to Arkansas, now Gus bolts to Tulsa..

But I heard this morning that Mitch is going to Tulsa..we'll see what today brings.

This whole situation is very wierd - very weird. Why would the OC of a defending SECW champ leave to be a co-OC at a smaller school? Why wouldn't he have worked it out with his "golden child" QB before hand?

Is there some NCAA and SEC snooping going on in the UAF program? I thought the whole bringing in the high school coach and all his players was very suspicious. Now this - is there something more going on?

First you need to know Gus was a figurehead OC, after the Southern Cal game Broyles told him and Nutt the Spread Hurrry up No Huddle (HUNH) wouldn't work. So as more and more of the season progressed Nutt took more and more control of the offense.

So there was speculation all year that the staff wasn't getting along, Gus was unhappy about not getting to run the offense, Herring (DC) called Malzhan, "highschool" as a nickname, the book came out where Mustain called Nutt an idiot during the recruiting process, Mitch was benched, the players parents met with Broyles (AD), Damien Williams transfers.

So this weekend on Saturday Malzhan hears that Nutt is looking to bring in David Lee as a co-offensive coordinator. Lee is currently on the Dallas Cowboys staff, and has been a QB coach at Arkansas before.

He decides enough is enough, he wants to be able to run his spread HUNH offense, so he calls Todd Graham and gets a job with Tulsa.

It's a soap opera over here...
