Mystery silent QB commit? (merged)

It is until we actually get a commit. Pretty sad that this staff put all their eggs in Scroggin's basket knowing he was a lean to USC...and then the kid admits he told Pete Carroll he was choosing them over 3 weeks ago. Meaning, we would likely have Rettig on board if that little punk wasn't playing his little "Look At ME" game...wanting to get his mug on ESPN

We may end up pursuing Rettig again, but I'm just not sold at this point that we were that interested.

I think you're right. I know somebody on here said that the coaches were never fully sold on Rettig. I think someone else also said that the staff was divided on whether or not to even offer him, even though they ended up offering.

They gave some thought provoking info on Sims. I don't believe he is solid as you may think. Definitely not as solid as Heaps, Bell, Scroggins, and Wood. Sims may have committed too early, jmo...

Simms has confirmed that it is not him. He is not wavering at all and is totally recruiting hard to Bama as of yesterday. Not sure our staff is sold on him anyway. I think the other Bama Simms is a long term chance for UT to turn but much more as an athlete than QB.
