Yes, Sims just got back from the Elite 11 camp and quickly stated that the UT rumors were exactly that and that with UA he is solid. He laughed that everytime he goes out town he becomes a UT silient commit.

This board I like because for the most part, like ours, it is pretty stable. Now for VQ most of them live in Area 51 and everything they drum up is a conspriacy of some sort. A lot of rumors over there especially if they think it involves a rival team in the SEC. If P Sims had commited to another team besides an SEC team his name wouldn't be a part of the mystery QB UT quest for the grail.

Another important note for UT fans is based on the national scouting services for both college and the NFL this class(2010) is one of the weakest in a long time for QBs. I am not talking about all the homers who write for teams, but actually people who evualate talent and not for a school or to give them stars. Again though even those sites have also said it is a weak class. If I was Kiffin and staff, especially with a JUCO coming in that might be as good as a 2010 top prospect I would be showing due diligence and making a run at the top 2011 QB prospects which is suppose to be a strong class.

Time and again people have said Cam Newton is not bring considered. At this point we would be crazy not to look at him hard

It should be intresting to see if we look at him. However, I feel that we need to go after Bray and try to secure a commit from him.

I don't believe there is a silent QB commit...even if there was one, we sure wouldn't know about it. This thread is purely a way to speculate more rumors...hope you have fun....

Right now we should focus on Bray. He is the one we KNOW the coaches are talking to and going after. He is the one who is most likely to commit to here ouit of anyone. When the fall comes, that is when we turn our eyes to Cam Newton as well......

Thats JMO of what is really going on.....

distance, social, education opportunities and how comfortable they are on visits are all things that are more important then depth charts, winning program, staff, etc. etc. if any of the above 3 are bad, the others likely to not over ride those in decision.

I think so on QB but heck, I could be out of loop on it...

Brays father came out and said his son was a solid commitment to SDST...I believe it because he will be close to home...I really do not feel confident in him switching...now Paul Jones is another story, He could dump PSU and come to UT...He's not too happy right now I get the feeling....This staff has already said theynwould take extra qb's if nessesary so Cam Newton is certainly not out of the picture at all.

I'd like to see Paul Jones and us focus on a Big 2011 target.

With no Paul Jones, or upper tier prospect, I'm for Grayson AND Cam Newton (to increase chances of getting a good one out of the 2).
I think Grayson is a sleeper, but Jones is currently my favorite...even if we were still waiting on Scroggins.

Does Cam Newton get to transfer his felony credits? I can't believe we are even considering a three-felony Gator reject.

I'm not convinced yet that Grayson is a SEC caliber QB. I don't believe the coaches will or should take roster fillers. If they can't find a guy that they believe in at the QB position then they should wait until next year.

None of the coaches are considering him and none of them are going to. Just a few people who don't have a clue what Tennessee football is all about.

Paul Jones would be open if we were to pursue him. The coaches haven't shown any interest in him to indicate that they like him as a prospect though. I doubt they go after him.

There seems to be zero reason to believe that Heaps, Bell, Hendrix, Rettig, Sims, Scroggins or one of the two PSU QB's are either of the following:

1. Reconsidering their current commitments, in any regard.

2. And even if so, that they are considering Tennessee

Can someone give us a whiff of a reason to believe any of this - without referencing either a random and seemingly unfounded rumor on VQ OR what Coach Creg told someone at Texas Roadhouse?

Not trying to be an a**, but it sounds like we might as well start a thread on pixies, the Easter Bunny, or an allegedly sensible liberal - you know, other purely fictitious characters....which, for all intents and purposes, this "mystery QB" seems to be.

I cant say I believe in the rumor but you have to know our staff said no one is off the board until NSD. So you have to believe they're still going after some big names.
