Who's asking you to get excited? lol You're not in the know so it's BS? I guess. But everything is speculation when you aren't on the inside, until you see it announced.

if we had a silent commit, why would we offer bray a scholarship? That doesn't make sense. Unless it is Bray himself...

If the comment went like this, we have a 'big fish" on the hook. That does not necessarily mean it is a silent commit.

If all of this is true, I think the staff has a "big fish" on the hook.
That doesn't mean they have him in the boat yet. Thus the Bray offer. I could be wrong, but I don't see us taking 2 more QBs. Bray is on the list now, and if he is not the "big fish", that means they have someone they are looking for a verbal from in the near future.(next couple of months)

I think they see it as, the sooner we get this nailed down, the better. And in most cases, it starts a chain reaction with guys that are on the fence at other positions. (WR.TE,RB, and some OLs) Not sure the staff wants a silent commit from a "big fish" at this position, at this point. If that is true, not sure he will be silent for long.

Have you seen the unfounded optimism and homerism running rampant on here? People have mentioned Jake Heaps, Blake Bell, Wood from TX, etc etc as people that are coming to TN.

I could very easily be wrong about it being BS, but to me it just sounds like a rumor that got started a little to close to the Scroggins announcement for my tastes.

I'm open to the possibility that it's legit, but posts about someone meeting Cregg at Texas Roadhouse, or a conversation that supposedly occurred between Lane Kiffin and someone's friend about a "Big Fish" with no other information sounds like BS to me. Just my $.02 though.

I think some people are just building themselves up for another let down. The worst part is that it's an unnamed possible QB that they're working themselves into a lather over. They don't even have a legitimate QB recruit to hang their hat on.

Could be wrong, but don't you have to wait until they start their junior year before offering a scholarship? Getting a solid verbal from an 11 recruit before you can even officially offer a scholarship doesn't sound like the best way to go about things. Also the coaches are smart enough to realize that a lot can happen in a year and a half so I doubt that an 11 recruit would be the "big fish".

Kiffin said their boards doesn't have any stars on it and they do their own evaluations. Hard to imagine. :)

I made this point earlier. Im not sure they have a silent, but it does sound like they could be in on one, that they feel good about.

I don't think they want a silent from a QB, he is the selling point for the other O recruits right now.

OK, you know all those times you guys say "Honey, you know I love you, even if I don't say it." Yeah, it's like that. You know there's a commit out there, he's just silent right now. :)

I agree that the staff probably is still working a committed QB. They never give up until the player actually signs.

I do however believe that if they do get a QB to commit, it would be made extremely public. To many offensive players waiting to find out who UT gets as a QB.
