I agree, but we also need a serviceable QB. I mean it will be fine if we sign him now so we can pull in some other recruits, but I would not be happy if we only signed him. I think we would still need to sign a better QB by NSD, IMHO.

His 40 time on the board is from the AA skills camp in Jan.. He was clocked in May at a 5.1. The kid just won the second MVP at the Elite 11 behind Heaps. I'm more worried how well he can pass the ball at 40 yards rather than running the ball 40 yards.

I may be wrong, but helping them get a job wouldn't necessarily constitute a violation. If they weren't qualified, didn't have to actually work, etc. then probably so. Helping them land a job they're qualified for and work seems like it shouldn't be. But it probably is.

Memphis basketball was rumored to be getting their recruits' parents very high paying jobs at FEDEX. One of the big guys at FEDEX was a big booster or something. I think it goes on a lot and isn't hard to get away with. Of course I know nothing except heard a rumor.

Thats it, case closed. I was just getting ready to speculate that this was some wild rumor, thanks for putting and end to the rumor LWS.

I just didnt make sense to me, if a highly recruited player decommitted from another program, it would be huge. The QB position and the questions surrounding it right now are too important for a big name commit to be silent. What purpose would it serve?

I would agree with you, but at least 3 fairly legit posters are saying the same thing in GQ. Not to mention Cregg said they have a big fish and that it is not Lamaison...

The rumor last week was that half our team was in lexington brawling over the weekend. 99% of rumors turn out to be just that. Rumors.

Yes, I'm a bit over anything that is supposedly "silent." I'd rather hear nothing for three months and get a publicly announced commitment than to be chasing the wind and grasping at straws all the time.

We keep hearing rumblings about Blake Sims for us because it is still believed that he wants to be a QB in college. That is what he plays in HS and was not happy when we got Phillip Simms. Now we are also getting some very good offensive targets commiting and C Grant just commited to us as a slot receiver and with another WR looking to commit to us soon, that will give us four WR in the class. B Sims if he stays with UA will be on defense. I believe his first choice is QB second choice is WR.

Also don't forget D Cobbs plays QB more than WR. This kid could be just like T Pryor at OSU. Why not give him the opportunity to play QB at UT if he will come.

This is his junior year in 2008: Rushed for 1,307 yards and 23 touchdowns. Threw for 1,108 yards and six more scores while playing quarterback. 236 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Intercepted two passes. Returned two punts and one kickoff for touchdowns
