NASCAR bans the confederate flag

I'm proud of my Southern hometown too, except when people start flying Confederate flags and romanticizing time periods when my relatives were treated as subhuman. Southern white people deemed themselves "friendly" while they were also lynching black people in public, because that didn't count. History in the South was this fun little collection of Americana for certain fortunate people, but was a nightmare for many others, which it looks like people are finally starting to realize.

I never knew a flag came to life and tortured people.

History is just that, history. It isn't present day. Has anyone tried to lynch you? Who has treated you as subhuman? I can understand battling racism today, but how do you defeat racism that existed 250 years ago? Those people and their ideas are long dead. So why do we hang on to what a bunch of dead white people did 250 years ago? Why should the white people of today feel guilt for something they never engaged in?

I'm all for equality. I see everyone as equal. I'm far more concerned with who people ARE, and not what color their skin is. But I don't buy into white privilege or white guilt or the idea of reparations. I don't think every time a black person is killed by a white person the motive is race. I know racism isn't dead, but I also don't think it's as rampant as it's made out to be. Honestly, I think it's the boogeyman used to keep us apart. Who it is that uses it for that purpose, I'll let you decide, but as long as you treat me fair, I'll treat you fair, no matter what color your skin is.

The confederate flag. The second greatest boogeyman for dimocrats next to Russia and just in front of statues of Columbus.

Easy way to trigger you and yours. It worked.
The only people who care about the confederate flag are the left. I could give two sh!ts if anyone flies it or it gets banned or whatever. Its just a hollow victory for those trying to virtue signal. You can have it but it wont make your lives any better.

Like I said. Yall are scared to death of Russia, Flags, Statues. And now the statues are fighting back lol.

No one flies a confederate flag and "romanticizes" about the south and owning slaves. Its only flown as a big middle finger to the government and people with fragile emotions. No one celebrates slavery. In fact if I started a poll pole here about traveling back in time and stopping the Atlantic slave trade I am positive it would get 100% in the yes column..

But while this is Racism Outrage 2020 lets get some other things changed as well to help the poor oppressed trying to forget White Supremacy and history in general that led them to having the plush lives they have now: LSU Tigers, Atlanta Braves, New England Patriots, New York Yankees, Washington DC, Everyone with the last name Jefferson, Virginia, The Carolina's, Georgia, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Maryland, any state named after an Indian, Baltimore, New York City, Camden, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Cornell, Penn, Arlington cemetery needs to be dug up and relocated since that was Robert E Lees land and its soaked with the blood of traitors and slavery, Gettysburg and all battlefields need to be razed in fact anything related to colonialism needs to be razed to the ground, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, San Diego Padres, Washington Redskins, and last but not least Tennessee Volunteers. You nimrods have a lot of work cut out for ya!

ps..Probably should stop using automobiles, flying, computers, electricity, cotton anything to stop spreading and perpetuating White supremacy as well.

I have given up several of them. About the only thing I watch sportswise any more is U.T. football/some basketball, Indy 500, and about 5 golf tournaments a year(4 majors and Players Championship). That is about 25-30 events a year. I can live without them. There have been no sports on for some time, and I'm still alive.

Don’t forget the Ryder Cup, 72.

I use to have confederate flags when I was younger bc it represented southern pride to me.... I don’t have them any more bc I realized how it made other people feel.... I am ok with the confederate flag going away but isn’t it hypocritical for people to be upset about this piece of cloth while not understanding why people are upset about the American Flag and what it means to them. My only issue is where does this stop? They are trying to cancel everyone that has even a slightly questionable social media posts going all the way back to their youth..... They are trying to cancel the ok sign and whatever else they can come up with..... I just want to live my life and enjoy it.....

Nah. Just pointing out how ridiculous you people are.

I really cant believe the idea of changing the name America hasn't been brought up! Amerigo Vespucci was racist AFFFFFFFFF, employed no people of color, and never took a knee before the natives. Yall should focus your time and energy there.

Truth be told, you can separate the Confederacy and Southern pride. I'm not proud that slavery once existed, but I do have pride in the South being known for being friendly, and outgoing, and laid back, as compared to the North. I've lived up North. People are generally more uptight up there. Maybe it comes from living on top of each other, I don't know, but I much prefer being back home in the South.
northerners, on average are the least friendliest people in the US, and have the most crass and selfish ways. Not all of them of course, but per capita by far worse than any other region.

Nope. You want to get at the root and real crass ways. Look no further than Lord Red Hat, and southern states.
