O-line needs to protect the QB and WR cant keep dropping the ball

Peterman could have played better, but a Veteran Oline needs to protect the Freshman, especially in the Swamp.

Lets start with the first fumble he had. It was a missed assignment by the RT. The next fumble he had was guess what another missed assignment by eather RB or RT. He even made better reads in the read options then worley. yes he did throw two interceptions but so did worley.

I try to be positive, but no he wasn't....

Not really his fault, but he was pretty bad....

Peterman makes A.J Suggs look like Peyton Manning. I don't think the kid could have had a worse game if he had tried.

I've been watching UT for 21 years and I've have never seen a QB play as bad as he did Sat.

Going to have to agree with the majority on this one.

I watched the game a second time and I didn't see anything that might alter the opinions expressed in this thread.

He very well might end up being the better QB at some point in the future; but based solely on yesterday's performance, it looks like it will be the distant future, if at all.

What about the throw he made that was 10 yeards over the receiver's head? If he had thrown it to the receiver he would have had to knock down a gator defender to get it there.

Guess the what ifs only work in one direction on your threads?

So last week Peterman was the answer ... Now we would have won if Worley had of started! This is why we aren't football coaches!

I have to say. Nathan has some of the best qb mechanics and footwork I have seen. He keeps his feet properly apart, always squares up and moved with the pocket. Same with Worley, great mechanics. Problem with Worley is he does not move in the pocket and it seems that he panics. Despite the great mechanics and footwork it goes to show that it isn't their current coaching, it is unfortunately probably due to their horrible coaching in the past, or they just are not very good.

No it wasn't. I like Nate but it was a missed read by him 100%. He could have audibled out or he could have pulled the ball for a big gainer off the left side.
The next fumble he had was guess what another missed assignment by eather RB or RT.
No. He stepped up but held the ball too long. Protection will not give him 5 seconds in the pocket.
He even made better reads in the read options then worley.
I can only remember him pulling the ball once and rushing for a minimal gain.

yes he did throw two interceptions but so did worley.
One of Worley's was a desperation throw at the end. Both of Nate's were flat out ugly. He threw into coverage badly on one then threw the other one trying to hold his arm back when he was about to throw into the teeth of the coverage again. The shot from the rear on that ugly looking pick clearly shows about 5 defenders surrounding two receivers.

Peterman had a horrible game and if anything... the stats were BETTER than his performance. The best we can hope for is that he learns and moves on. But if I had to guess.... he may have to change locations to move on.

I think we all assumed that at least one of the QB's would transfer... I think he's become the most likely one now.

Peterman is better than his performance Saturday. He has the skills, he is simply not ready for the SEC. 2014 he may be . I think he will transfer especially if one or both of the freshmen step up.

No....he was worse. Didn't set correct protection and/or check out of the wrong play on the first fumble. Worley's 2 picks.... first one he was trying the throw the ball away. Second was basically a Hail Mary at the end if the game... not the same at all. If Worley starts we have a much better shot at keeping the game competitive, maybe even, ahem, winning the game.

it's pretty bad when you have 6 yards passing and your TOs are almost higher than that

OP you can make excuses for him but that is one of the worst showings from a QB you will ever see on any level of football. Ever.

That's just the truth of it.
