National title game thread.

It makes them slightly stronger. As I said for the 3rd time, they've made 2 straight NC games and is already primed for a 3rd straight playoff spot. They're already more attractive than us and have been a while.

Yeah, both are at the moment.

Not to mention - closer to home - every team in the conference (coming off of not great years) is currently in a bad position of having to pretty much make their sale "you could help us be the ones to finally dethrone Alabama," while a win tonight would have pretty much strengthened the Crimson Tide to the point of "come here to win national championships."

Personally, I'm all for anything that lessens - to any degree - the currently immense gap between them and the rest of the SEC, including them not winning yet another national title.

Saban is handling his presser really well. Props to the guy.

Need Saban to leave

...or hire Jon Gruden of course

This game built into a real crescendo

Thought it was boring as hell and ended up being a classic

I'll say it right now. I'm not sure Jalen Hurts is the guy.

Calvin Ridley and the rest of the Bama receivers would probably amen that. Hurts tries to make the offense go through him, why even have receivers at Bama with him at QB?

I agree. But that TD run though...

Have to remember, he's a freshman.

I know but he looked awful passing the ball the last few games. He got worse it felt like. That's not good.

They set him up all year with one read on pass plays and if it's not open run or throw it away. He may not really understand at this point defenses and how to read them. We had a genius at QB the last four years, Hurts may not be at that level.

Looking back, I think Scarborough getting injured is what did Bama in. Once he went out, they couldn't get first downs, and their defense was gassed by the end of the game. How many plays did Clemson run, anyway? Like 90?

He looks to me like a guy trying really hard to suppress his instinct to leave the pocket as soon as he sees daylight.
