NBA vs NCAA

And your excuse for Kevin Martin's steady improvement even though defenses are focusing more and more on him? 34.6% in college, 42.5% this year...up from 40.2% and 38.1%...looks like consistent improvement to me
They're focusing more on him now than in college?

Anyone who thinks JP Prince is an NBA player please say so now so I can put you on my ignore list because there is nothing you can say from now on worth listening to

And also maybe UCLA's 1995 squad. The O'Bannon bros? Tyus Edney? Toby Bailey?
Good point. Ed O'Bannon's knees completely gave out when he got to the NBA. George Zidek was in the league for a couple of years, but he didn't do anything of note.

An aside to the topic. The Magic were entering the Wachovia Center Saturday as I was leaving the G'Town-Villanova postgame press conferences and I passed Dwight Howard in the hall. He might be as physically imposing a player as I've ever seen. You generally don't see big guys that cut up. He's even more impressive than a young Shawn Kemp.

I agree man...When he was in Memphis I seen the man and dude is a beast.

kevin Willis' short-ass arms were jacked and ripped.

Most physically imposing has to be Shaq. Gigantic, strong and very quick.

Howard has some of the broadest shoulders I've ever seen. Having said that I believe Lebron James is the most physically intimidating basketball player I've seen (on TV). He seems even thicker than Howard and just as cut.

DWade is a great midrange shooter. Howard is never going to be.

agreed. Don't tell hat that. Apparently tons of teams would willingly let him shoot.

Really though it doesn't matter. This is trivial. GO VOLS!

As opposed to pushing out on him and allowing him to get to the rim every time, I guarantee every opponent's scouting report says to make him hit jumpers.

Ok Hat, what about Rasheed Wallace? Although I was young when he was at UNC I don't exactly remember him being the shooter he is today. That might have to do with UNC's offense and that he didn't need to leave the paint because of the lack of quality big men in college to defend him inside. Just a thought off the top of my head after reading a few posts, I've done absolutely no research on this.

Personally I think Chism and Smith have tons of upside. Chism has the most. He is smooth and quick off his feet and if he does develop a consistent touch around the hoop, he can go somewhere. Smith seems to be working on his ballhandling skills this year, so he can be maybe a 3/4 type player in the NBA. He needs to work on getting off a jumpshot versus set shot.
