You are being exceptionally dense. Ariza played a single season in college. If you ever actually talk to an NBA scout, they will tell you one of the first assumptions they make about players who have been in college three or four years is that their shot is a finished product. The reason for that? It's true.
I'd say Lewis is a pretty big addition. Playing next to another guy who has averaged 20+ for a season will help you get more open shots. Also, look at Jameer Nelson's college numbers. Nobody ever doubted he could shoot.
I agree with Hat here. You can't play 4 years of college and not be able to shoot the ball, and suddenly become a good shooter when you reach the NBA. Now, if Prince left after his Freshman season, then possibly you could make a case that he could improve his shot. But obviously, Prince's shot looks about as good as it's going to get.
So, what's the excuse going to be when he reverts to form next year? If you're using one year to assert something is a fact, I can say Antoine Carr was a 20 point a game quality scorer in the NBA. Actually, Jameer only played about half a season this year. So, if we want to use 50 game sample sizes, I can prove all kinds of preposterous things.Nelson played four years of college ball and a few more in the NBA as a 35% shooter, and then became a 45% shooter...no one says it has to happen right away, but after a few years it obviously did

How many years did Gerald Wallace play in college? This is subjective, of course, but I was impressed to see how much Gerald Wallace's jump shot had improved after a couple of years in the league. I remember him as a slasher in college whom teams would lay off from outside b/c he couldn't consistently hit the J.
Indiana in '87 and Kentucky in '98 are the only teams in recent history to win an NCAA title without a player who went on to have a significant NBA career.

Not if you factor in number of shots and the fact he was the main focus of every defense he faced at Saint Joe's.
