I don't. The ease of plundering talent in North Carolina is vital to success at UT. If UNC is good with a recruiter like Mack then our path is more difficult than it already is.

The guy is almost 70 years old and hasn’t done anything noteworthy on the field yet. He’s got a good class, but if they don’t win, it won’t matter and UNC will fade back to irrelevance.

Any ambitious high school prodigy would prefer UT over UNC in football. UT simply offers more history, more passion, better preparation for the next level. Undoubtedly some kids will take playing for the home-state school even if our product is superior in every way. It's easier for them to stay with a guy like Mack running the ship and especially if he's having success on the field.
Eh. If it's not them it's Clemson... Or UGA... Or Auburn... If nothing else it definitely slows down Clemson and UGA who both have done well in NC...

Sadly both of those schools recruit on a national scale where NC talent isn't essential to the health of their program. I think UT doing well in NC would do more for our program than it would for either of those schools at this time. My view is that we will recruit better in the state of North Carolina when there is absolutely no compelling reason to stay in state. UT should be viewed almost as in-state school there. Taking 3 to 4 of their top ten players should be no problem for UT in normal times. Granted times aren't normal because we've been at the lowest our program has ever been and a nearby competitor in Clemson is at all time highs. I don't see Clemson slowing down anytime soon and I'd rather see the Heels kicking rocks.

The best possible situation is Florida State becoming a beast again which hurts multiple schools we compete with far more than it would us.

Florida State is about to be good again. UNC will be short lived, Mack is already struggling health wise

Clemson can kick rocks

Mack Brown without Vince Young was not able to get much done at the easiest school in the country to recruit to. Even easier than USC, Alabama or Ohio State. What makes these kids think UNC is somehow gonna happen? He played Clemson tough in year one because of very little film to review of him at UNC. They beat USCjr and Miami, both were awful. It’s UNC football. C’mon man. Gimme a break.
You're sounding like the South Carolina fans I was quoting last night.

Sam Howell will be a damn good QB.

I don’t get the hype these kids see in UNC. Their football fan base is not huge, they will never beat Clemson, and who knows how much longer Mack Brown has ? I just don’t get it .

If they fix the defense and get more weapons on offense they can at the very least scare Clemson. Make no mistake about it Sam Howell can do it all.

If they meet this year they will lose by three touchdowns at least. I was at the game last year and Clemson slept walk through it. They played with zero intensity and were as bad as I’ve seen them in years. UNC should have won. It won’t happen next time.

This. We want Miami and Florida State to win and North Carolina and Clemson to lose.

Colt McCoy stacked up pretty well and he was a 3 star...went steadily downhill from there. What was perplexing was he had all the skill players and big uglies you could ask for sewed up a year in advance. His coordinators and position coaches were crap. Maybe it’s different in his second Chapel Hill act.
