'24 NC DL Amaris Williams (Auburn))

In this era of college football, nothing is a guarantee. He lost to New Mexico State this year. Auburn is going to demand results and the SEC is about to expand. Everyone thought Billy Napier was a home run hire and he’s about to get canned.
But freeze had done it. He beat Saban while at ole miss.
He’s not an experiment.
Losing to NMst proves he had scraps.

Why didn't he consider us again? Seems like the rumor was that the staff really wants him.

Now that paying players is legal Freeze is going to kill it an Auburn, you may not like him as a person but he’s a good coach.

I’m not convinced he will kill it at Auburn. Particularly with the SEC expanding. It’s only going to get harder. He had an underwhelming Year 1 in a down year for the SEC. Jury is still out, IMO.

They’re about to have a monster close to their recruiting class
Went to the Auburn 247 site. Theyre in on Williams and a 5 star receiver who is reclassifying. Wonder if he'll keep the same ranking in 24 class?

I like our class. I wish we had a TE, and a DL. The extra OT was always gravy. Anything beyond the two items I mentioned like a WR, CB, etc etc was just what would crest us over the good hill to great.

We just completely whiffed on DL. Kam Franklin, Williams Nwaneri, Aydin Breland, this kid (Amaris Williams). But hey, maybe we get the DL that's committed to Kent State.....

Yeah, DL recruiting has left me completely baffled.

TE and Cai Bates would have been really nice as well.

I don't know...he wasn't as successful at Ole Miss as Kiffin has been. He did manage to beat Saban two consecutive years and that seems to have been what created this narrative that he's a great coach. He's proven to be a solid coach, but he had down years after good years at both Ole Miss and Liberty...so he hasn't shown he can consistently field a really good team yet. He'll have his best shot at Auburn with the money they'll put into recruiting.

Freeze is 10 times the coach Butch Jones is
Giving up 4th and goal from the 40 to lose a game is the most Butch Jones thing I’ve ever seen. And good coaches don’t lose to NMSU at Auburn.
I get that people think he’s some special deal but for every great win y’all claim he has he’s got 2 loses that are unacceptable. He’s straight garbage as a coach and person

Y’all are going to be frustrated when he starts rolling again. He’s a great coach. You better hope he helps beat up on our rivals when we don’t draw them on the schedule. Same for ole miss.

Great coach who hasn’t won anything significant?

I really don’t care what he does.
I’m a pretty good judge of character though.
I was wrong about Strong. He wasn’t a good coach in the end. I was right about Mullen. He wasn’t winning big at Florida because he has the same flaws as freeze.

He got blasted by New Mexico st. If that had happened to Heupel this place would have totally melted down. Then somehow the very next week they snatch defeat from victory with a marshmallow package that even Willie Martinez wouldn’t dare try. GBO
