‘23 NC DL Daevin Hobbs (Tennessee commit)

Lol, “I’ve made some relationships with Georgia so I can watch Tennessee play on their dime”
Did it earlier this year when Pitt had a 5 star WR (Ryan WIngo) OV when we played them. And TN is one of his top schools too.
CJH is a master at how to use opposing schools to get our recruits to the games and they pay for it. ;)

Go Vols!!

Yes and no.

Unless we have a staff of Biochemists on board, it's hard to subdue genetics.

Kurot Garland is about 305. He's been that for 3 years. But when he signed late he was 245 lbs. Only 6'3.

This kid is 3" taller and has wide shoulders.
You're not even gonna notice that he put 25 lbs on hardly.
What makes him a 5 star is that freakish athletic ability. Yeah...he can absolutely be a SDE and be that at 320 lbs....
You'd notice the weight gain if you tried to move it....

Sounds like a lock to me. This DL will be elite. Need to lock up Garner and Golesh for a few years
At this point Danny White and Heupel need to ensure that Mr. Rodney Garner retires here. He doesn’t seem to have ambitions of being a DC or head coach; if so he would have made those moves a long time ago. Coaching defensive linemen is his life’s work. I hope that Rodney feels like he is home now, and never leaves.

Agreed, and he has some years left in him. He's only in his mid 50s

And both of his girls (twins, I believe) are enrolled at UT.

How could you not love living in Knoxville with the TN River and Smokey Mountains

I agree, but if he does want to be DC, been nice knowing you Banks.

Yep. Hopefully Garner gets a good raise at the end of this season.

If Fulmer had been able to keep him on staff the last time he coached here, he might still be the head coach. Garner was a great recruiter then.

We have said in recent weeks that Tennessee is positioned well with North Carolina defensive lineman Daevin Hobbs. He was in Alabama last weekend, and while he had a good time, we believe Tennessee is still in a very good spot coming out of that visit. Tennessee will still have to hold on over the next several weeks as things do change in recruiting, but heading in to late October we believe they continue to be in a good spot.
