‘23 NC DL Daevin Hobbs (Tennessee commit)

For the same reason Bama wanted a rematch with us. Anything is possible with a neutral field game. So many things can change in that scenario. UGA was laser focused for this game, tired of hearing all the gushing over UT, Hooker Heisman talk, home field advantage. It was the perfect storm. Vols haven’t recruited at the level UGA has, so there is a definite advantage in talent to UGA. All that said, I’d like to see a rematch in the playoffs because on any given day………

Same... even if we lose to them, I think we will play better next time. I just felt like we didn't really have a good game that Saturday and I would like to see how things would have gone if Tennessee had a good game.

The buzz: Daevin Hobbs is likely done with visits and will take the next few weeks to make his decision. The five-star out of Concord (N.C.) Jay M. Robinson was at Georgia over the weekend. Going into that visit, I was hearing Alabama and Tennessee were ahead of the Bulldogs. It was tight, and all three schools were up there, but based on what I was told by a source, Georgia was running third. That same source now has Georgia trending at the top. This is shaping up to be a battle between the two schools Hobbs saw play in Athens: Georgia and Tennessee. Alabama can never be ruled out of any race, but based on what I am hearing, Georgia and Tennessee have created a gap between them and the Crimson Tide. Hobbs will announce his commitment on Nov. 25, his mother’s birthday.

Why don't we just pull NIL and offer him a large sum, like Nico, higher than anything he is getting at Georgia?

It seems like Nico was our only huge NIL grab. There is money out there (i.e. Haslems) to get more players.

state laws exist that either deny NIL benefits to athletes not enrolled at a university or allow them. CA allows them.

not sure about North Carolina, but i'm thinking "no".

many states are retooling their laws to provide more fair/balanced playing field.

“I was hearing Alabama and Tennessee were ahead of the Bulldogs. It was tight, and all three schools were up there, but based on what I was told by a source, Georgia was running third. Won’t ever catch those punks if we ket kids like this slip away to them and sit on their bench until they’re juniors.
