Utley and Dye will both be 290 lbs by the time Fall starts in 2025Jenkins can play either the 5 tech or the 3 tech. I’d like to see him add 10 lbs and play inside next year because he’s needed there more. Wallace looks promising. He’ll redshirt. Robinson has gotten good reviews in preseason. They’re high on him.
Right now, I’d guess the DT rotation in 2025 will be Hobbs/Moi, Jenkins/Wallace, Robinson/portal. That’s if no freshmen are ready to crack into the rotation, but I’m guessing one or two will.
Yep. That’s why I said I’m guessing 1 or 2 will crack the rotation next year. Hell, OU has a true freshman starting at DT and their DL is good. We’ll be fine if one of our top 6 guys happens to be one of those talented freshmen.Utley and Dye will both be 290 lbs by the time Fall starts in 2025
House will be 300.
Not sure you can afford to RS those guys in 2025. Maybe they won't be the starters but they will each get 20 snaps a game I imagine.
Does Eason have one more year of eligibility if he wants it?Jaxson Moi, Daevin Hobbs, Jayson Jenkins, Carson Gentle, Jamal Wallace. Tyre West could probably play inside if needed. No doubt we need additional depth, and probably at least one instant impact transfer. We lose a lot, but we aren't bare bones, either.
Here’s how it plays out I think. You know Heupel will take a look at the portal for sure, but…Yep. That’s why I said I’m guessing 1 or 2 will crack the rotation next year. Also…good chance we add Isaiah Campbell to that group.
And that doesn’t include Wallace, who is redshirting. He could also develop into a stud. He’s very athletic for his size. Here’s how it plays out I think. You know Heupel will take a look at the portal for sure, but…
LEO Josephs (Sr), Ross (So)/Herring (Jr),
DT Moi 6’2 305 (Sr) Wallace (RsJr), Utley/Dye (Fr)
DT West 6’3 300 (Sr) Hobbs 6’4 305 (Jr), Robinson (RsSo)/House (Fr)
SDE Jenkins/ Bailey (Sr), Weathersby (RsSo)
The freshman don’t even show up until 3rd team!
That’s without a transfer portal or Eason coming back! The 2 deep are aall most all Seniors.
We’ve built something . A machine!
Then 2026 you have Hobbs as a senior. And that doesn’t include Wallace, who is redshirting. He could also develop into a stud. He’s very athletic for his size.
Edit: nevermind. You have him in there. I missed it.
Also, I forgot Bailey can come back. That’s huge.
If Garner retires in the near future, I’m guessing Chop is being groomed as the replacement. Then 2026 you have Hobbs as a senior.
Wallace as senior. Robinson in year four at 6’6 305
And then all those sophomores who were getting 15- 20 snaps a game in 2025
Utley 6’4 300 So
Dye 6’4 300 So
House 6’3 305 So
Hopefully Campbell at 6’4 300 So as well.
Not to mention Darion Smith at 6’2 290 DT (RsFr)
Gentle and Lindtrom at SDE behind Weathersby.
Maybe this 2026 is the last Rodney Garner Dline.
Okoye? Maybe he recovers and starts getting a few snaps. Then 2026 you have Hobbs as a senior.

Not sure what you’ve seen from Simmons over the past 4 years to think he’s getting drafted. He’s been more of a VN hero than a highly productive DT. Hope he ends his career here on a high note and gets a shot at the NFL butt at this point he looks like an UDFA in my opinion.Gentle is 250 lbs. That's too small to play inside. Jenkins is 280 lbs but built lean. I think he's a strongside defensive end only. West can jump inside. There's nothing about Wallace to suggest he can contribute. No we are super thin at defensive tackle going into next year. We're gonna need to spend big money in the portal at that position to get impact players.
Now the good news about losing 4 seniors at one position is all 4 look like they'll be drafted. So in 2026 we'll be able to tell recruits that we just had 4 defensive tackles get drafted in a single year. That should make us a top destination for the best defensive lineman.
If that. Best of luck to him regardlessNot sure what you’ve seen from Simmons over the past 4 years to think he’s getting drafted. He’s been more of a VN hero than a highly productive DT. I agree with you about needing depth. I’m also not concerned about them finding guys through the portal. Garner is as connected as any DL coach in the country and I wouldn’t be surprised if they already know who they will be targetingWhat interior defensive lineman do we have who will be back next year other than Hobbs and Moi? Nathan Robinson? I guess he could develop.
We're solid at edge rusher and strong side defensive end for next year. But interior d-line will be a significant hole since Eason, Thomas, Norman-Lott, and Simmons are all set to graduate. We're gonna need to get at least 2 instant impact guys from the transfer portal like Norman-Lott in 2023.
