Something has been going on. He unexpectedly visits Ohio State out of nowhere. Maybe he wants to be a Vol but someone is trying to squeeze more juice from this thing.

Is it time to panic?

This whole process has been an absolute nightmare.

I wouldn't panic, but I'm certainly sick of this recruitment.

The school has had at least a year’s notice as to when signing day is but yet the schedule worked best for the 4 players to have a signing ceremony a week after? This doesn’t pass the sniff test.

I wouldn't panic, but I'm certainly sick of this recruitment.

I just can’t believe he’s still considering throwing himself into the circus that is currently Ohio State football. That’s what ultimately gives me confidence he ends up here (unless others are involved).

There’s enough uncertainty to warrant some concern. It is what it is.

At best, it's not "nothing".

Even if the signing next week is true, the early signing period only runs through this Friday, so he has to have paperwork into his school of choice by then.

The extra time just gives him and his team time to negotiate further and for relationships to sour as tensions and frustrations rise (justifiably so from Tennessee's side).

Hopefully, he honors his commitment and terms already agreed upon, but I'm with you...this isn't just a non-issue.

I don't even think we're up against Ohio State or anyone else (specifically). At this point, they either want to be here or they don't. He'll end up here imo, but man it's been annoying.

Even if we ultimately sign him, I'd guess this is one of those kids who will need massaging and babysitting every offseason until he leaves.

And it may not even be fair to put this on him as much as the team of people around him. But those same people seem like the ones who will be in his ear trying to influence him at this same time next year.

When the talent fee hits and players are paid as employees I could see some serious union efforts and collective bargaining surrounding best practices for agents behavior regarding recruitment and a sort of salary cap during recruitment similar to how SAG-AFTRA works with entertainment agents

Essentially would require agents to register with the union and would eliminate this kind of back door dealing we are currently seeing. Standardize employment rates into “performer” categories that dictate a minimum and maximum $ number and a set period of time allocated to discuss those numbers before a decision must be sent and finalized to the union
