'26 NC QB Faizon Brandon (Tennessee commit)

Obviously we’ve become an embarrassment of riches at QB, but Brandon is a truly remarkable quarterback. Having a kid with this kind of physical strength, speed, arm strength and versatility could be the key to open the next door in our growth. He’s Vince Young/Bryce Young ready, and he’s going to be bigger and stronger when he arrives.

You hit the best part. He’s only half way thru his HS career. With the most snaps coming. He’s going to develop a lot still both skill wise AND physically.

Scary and fun to ponder.

Plus we get to watch how he can help with recruiting his class. 😈

He's a big kid, with (what I can glean), good footwork, etc.

What stood out to me was, much like Hendon. When the play broke down, the athlete took over.

When that happens, what happens as they stop thinking? To me, Joe didnt trust his athleticism enough. When he ran it was effective. Had he realized even 1/2 of his potential, he couldve done amazing things. At 6'5" 240 couldve and shouldve bulldozed anyone.

A decade ago we had Peterman, Worley, and a 2nd year Dobbs with Riley Ferguson transferring out.

Half a decade ago we had JG, Brian Muarer, and JT Shrout.

Crazy how different the talent is in our QB room now and moving forward.

Heupel pretty much handpicks his QB with little to no effort.

Truly remarkable.

Belated BOOM!!!! This was a big one, boys.

Can someone please explain this to me. Brandon Faizon is a five star recruit. 247 has plenty of articles describing him as the best player in the 2026 cycle. When you look at the 247 team rankings for 2026, Tennessee is listed at number twenty-seven with one FOUR star recruit. You click on the class and it lists Brandon as a five star. (WTF) What am I missing here? I am not a conspiracy theorist; however, 247 also dropped George MacIntyre from a five star to a four star after he committed to Tennessee. Are we seeing true bias, incompetence or something else completely?

Sitting here grinning like a monkey in a banana tree. I’m reading y’all’s comments on which absolute stud QB might not get to play.
Fours years ago at this time our QB room was “who” and a transfer named Hooker and a transfer named Milton.
What CJH and staff have done is mine blowing🤯

The situation now is a terrific problem to have.

I know there are some concerns with recruiting elite QBs yearly and losing them via portal. While valid, the type of kid matters and Nico/Gmac/FB all fit that.

Also, with Gmac/FB I think we will see a situation where both play early and often due to talent, etc. Won’t be a true redshirt year like Nico just got. Just what I’ve heard speculated.

It’s why I don’t allow the nerds to quantify my happiness level.

He's listed as a 4* in the 247 composite, which is what they base their rankings on.

If GMac doesn’t beat out Merk for QB2 in the spring he most definitely will redshirt IMO.

MacIntyre missed the summer camps with an injury. That’s why

I saw the same thing yesterday. How is Ohio State and Houston ahead of Vols in average player ratings if we have only one player and he is the number one in the class??? It has to be a math error since it is mathematically impossible.

I think the team rankings might go by their composite and Faizon is not a 5 star on every site.
