'20 NC QB Navy Shuler

Honestly perfect QB to get out of the portal. We have our starter. Milton doesn't seem to have the drive. And Jackson will be a true freshman. I say he becomes our solid backup option if we need it. Hopefully we won't.
I would be stunned if he’s QB2. I don’t think he’s even getting a scholarship. Has to be a PWO. We have too many other needs at other positions to burn a spot on a qb who will almost certainly never play meaningful snaps.

For Navy!

He is a PWO. Doesn't hurt to though to have a kid that will be here for 4 years in the qb room. That's guaranteed depth... he was also a 3* so it's not like he lacks athletic ability.

1. Knowledgeable QBs always make a great scout qb. Navy is a QB-lifer, son of an NFL QB...

2. He's the fifth Shuler, and Heup needs other legacy players to feel welcomed. The athletes from some glory days (96-02) will have college age kids soon.

3. Keeps pressure on NC and maintains our recruiting pressence in NC. Have you seen UNC's recruiting class this cycle?

This transfer, PWO or scholly athlete, is a great pickup and move.

This kid threw for over 4000 yds and 44 TDs one season, rushed for over 300 yds another, had over 11,000 total yds, and 70 TDs throwing in his career. He ain't no chump. He could probably play FCS ball anywhere he wanted. He's a great pickup as a walk on, and will be huge for our QB room...not to mention, just more energy and support this does for the program and fans; his daddy is Peyton-level for Vol Nation, more so for many (#2 on my list), absolutely beloved.

Uhhh ok... that's great for FCS programs but we play Alabama, Georgia, and Florida every year... my point still stands. He's a depth piece regardless what he did in Asheville North Carolina or how special his dad was.

Besides Jimmy Streater, Heath is my favorite Vols QB…….

Manning is the best, but Streater and Shuler have special spots in my heart!

Nobody is saying he’s his dad…..but in an emergency, he could be sufficient. Glad he’s a Vol.

Uhhh...if you read my post and check my 'like' of your OP, I was agreeing with you. Just adding a bit to the conversation.

And, are you serious about playing Bama, UGA, and UF? And every year?!?!

Some of y’all can really suck the air out of the room. We all get his role. He’s a good guy to have on the team especially as a PWO.

Lol, I was saying he was a quality depth piece earlier. You cant really suck the air out over a PWO.

Never start a sentence or paragraph for that matter with and. I don't pay any attention to likes because I care less if others agree with my opinion because it doesn't matter, I'm not the coach.

It’s almost as if some of y’all have never seen a multi year back up come in and play like a heisman qb on other teams. It’s never happened FOR us but it’s happened TO us several times. This has that feeling to me.
