Some of it is Gundy, but he has guys leave and do pretty well moving the ball at other stops. He found Yurcich in the hinterlands and it worked out pretty well over the past few years. So he's proven he can aid in making Gundy's system work if nothing else.

Can we please stay away from OSU when we look for our next coach? They play us like a fiddle just to get a raise or better job and leave us looking like fools.

If Pruitt.... and Fulmer really wanted him, they should have gotten him. Im not buying the whole "NOBODY wants to come here" crap. So, IMO its our own damn fault if we look like fools.

I'm not sure, seems like I heard that once. The offense Yurcich coached at Shippenburg was similar to the Ok State offense and led the nation in yards and points per game in Div II. Gundy said he hired him because he played OB, had coached WR and had been an OC that ran a high octane, fast paced offense, similar to his own. He said he was raked over the coals by Ok State fans for the hire and that it was rare to have an AD that would approve of a hire like that.

The oddest thing about this move is that he is taking another OC job. the prior 4 Ok State OCs have gotten head coaching jobs from the position.

So which rumor do I believe? This thread, or sark was fired so we could hire him? I can't keep up 😆

I am not even sure we offered him. It makes no sense if we did at this point instead of weeks ago.

I still think it is an NFL person they were chasing and the Idea of UT offering was his agent trying to get him a better offer at OSU.

It would make little sense for us to have waited this long to offer a current college OC.

I agree and this happens a lot... Sometimes VN makes no sense at all. Some of the very same posters who appeared excited at the prospect of hiring Steve Sarkisian, are now posting to this thread, and freaking out at the possibility that this guy (not exactly a household name) turned us down for Ohio State. I think some posters just enjoy the freak out.
