I'm not sure. I'm sure Gundy has a lot of input into the offense. I wouldn't think the same offenses that work in the Big 12 would be successful in the SEC.
Oklahoma put up 48 points and 531 yards on Georgia and destroyed Auburn the year before.

Oklahoma put up 34 points and 471 yards on Bama this year. Gave Bama a game with a healthy Tua and put up more yards on Bama than any SEC team this year.

Missouri just lost to a middling Big 12 team and got trounced by Texas last year. Baylor just beat Vandy. KS beat Atm a couple years ago.

I think Big 12 offenses would do just fine in the SEC.

Very good points.

While factually true these stats are misleading. You are using examples of bowl games very late in the season. Aslo, you are talking about teams that are not real familiar with each other. Using Oklahoma? Look at those rosters. Mayfield, LamB, Brown, Westbrook and Murray. Two Heisman QBs that played great against 2 powerhouse SEC schools late in the year.

The big question is would a B12 offense work week in and week out in the SEC? No way to answer that.

You can bet your bodacious behind that UT screwed it up somewhere along the way

They negotiate about as good as a rock floats
Calm down princess, he wasn't even offered. Man this site has the biggest bunch of hand wringing chicken littles i've ever seen. You boys need some new hobbies.

That is exactly why Gundy is so successful.................a wide open spread offense. If Pruitt runs three yards and a cloud of dust like fulmer and majors, his tenure will be short lived. These offenses are so out dated it is not even funny. Yeah, I now all about Alabama but they get all 5 star players too.

Bama is a spread offense too.

The curious case of our OC is that this thing has stayed so quiet the whole time. No leaks and not much chatter. We hear of an interview or two but no offers. Totally unlike the last regime. They could not even keep the "secret flights" secret and hired three coaches before the final implosion. This quiet is a good thing. Pruitt is going to get the person he wants and doesn't care what the press or the message boards get or don't get.

NOBODY knows more today than we did the day Ty Helton left for WKU. The logic of the UTAD defies explanation quite frankly, IMO. Fulmer doesn’t owe the fans any communication, but it does seem pretty strange that we’ve waited this long and still nothing. Sarkisian? Yurcich? Cooter? My money remains on the Cooter, as it should. Happy New Year

a wealth of typed words but nothing definitive yet and time rolls on...guess we just don't have enough of an OC talent pool to choose from yet...:D

GO VOLS...RECRUIT LIKE HECK!

Justice Hill would have had 3 straight 1000 yard seasons if he hadn't missed time this year. Not to mention, the quick outs and such are just an extension of the running game.

Edited to add this: in the first half of games this year, Alabama had 257 passes to 255 runs, while Oklahoma State had 268 passes to 246 runs. Which, aside from showing that Oklahoma State did not lack balance, also shows that the idea that you have to be run heavy to win in the SEC is pure nonsense.
Just looks very much like the offense we ran under Butch.... runs on delay plays and always out of the pistol or gun. I actually liked our offensive scheme this season minus our offensive line struggles but enjoyed the more pro look. I’m hoping Yurcich heads to the other OSU and we bring in someone who is not changing our offensive philosophy completely again this upcoming season.
