‘23 NC WR Nathan Leacock (Tennessee)

If kids run track they usually have their verified times on their 247 profile. If you can’t find it there, it will be on milesplit. Wright supposedly has world class speed for the 60m but I don’t think that translates to football imo

Of all the events, the 60m would be the one that would translate most to football.

I would like the 10 yard whatever (shuttle?) would translate the most to football. Most plays are under 20 yards

I really hope we get Leacock. Lots of potential.

He’s young. He didn’t play bad at all for a freshman
He played pretty good for a freshman. Think he averaged over 5 yards a carry. Track speed doesn’t always translate and I’m not convinced his does. He has plenty of time to prove me wrong, I just didn’t see it last year and i hope he does

Wright will be much better after a year in S&C and with experience.

Let's see the greatest attribute for WR is 1 catch the ball 2. Run good routes. Very few that our great route runners. 3. Quickness at line 4. Speed. So when people get caught up in track speed it is meaningless if you can't do the others. In CHRIST Alone

Was that time an outlier? That's insane speed if he is 6'3" 200 lbs. Crazy anyone could go under the radar with those measurables with how recruiting currently is.
It seems that he runs a 10.8. He either told the NC State guys that, or maybe he ran a hand timed 10.5 somewhere idk. But his official best time is 10.8

The best WR’s get up to their top speed QUICKLY and lose the least in making cuts. Jerry Rice never timed better than a 4.6 (despite constant training) but he was 3 steps ahead of the fastest corners in his day. Steve Largent and Steve Smith never suffered from their times clocked in shorts. When the pads were on, they outran the guys paid to stop them. There’s a reason they don’t do a yearly Combine.
