NCAA Baseball Postseason Thread

Deep hit by Gators a double plus a run scored.

2-0 Gators top 5th the Hornfrogs need to minimize the damage.

Bottom 7
3-0

The Hornfrogs need a late comeback.
Lucky for them a walk for the lead off batter.

Pretty sure LSU can say baseball is their brand so very shocked tgst wasn't mentioned.

Decent hit up the middle and 2 runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs.
Capitalize hornfrogs.

Going to bottom 9th 3 is the number in 2 ways the Hornfrogs have 3 outs left, and need to score 3 runs to tie the game.

The Gators advance to the Championship round best of 3 with a 3-0 shutout.

Great pitching by the Gators has the result of 2 shutouts vs the Hornfrogs plus going to the Championship round.
Unmistakably last night the Hornfrogs amazing 9-2 win is a 1 game wonder, or lightning in a bottle vs The Gators.

The same story for the Hornfrogs huge disappointment.

LSU Tigers vs Gators 2 sec teams for the Championship round
1 team that never has won a college baseball championship playing a team that has won multiple College Baseball championships

99, how does the pitching stack up for the series. Does either team have the top of their staffs available?

UF is stating Singer tonight on 5 days rest so they're in good shape for game 1.

Wonder if LSU uses Poche on 4 days? LSU is probably in a little better shape with UF using Faedo on Saturday.

I did see where one of LSU's weekend guys is out for the rest of the series with an injury. In game 1, LSU is starting a Sr with a 1-1 record and an ERA over 8. He hasn't started a game since 2015. However, if LSU can split the first 2, they will have the edge in game 3. Sully will have to decide whether to start Faedo on 3 days rest or just use Johnny Wholestaff.

What pisses me off about UF possibly winning this whole thing is their "fans" won't even care. They have the best athletic program in the country top to bottom and their fan support is pathetic and it shows in attendance and subpar facilities across the board.

Singer pitches a gem of a game and leaves to a standing ovation of like 6 people that couldn't even be heard. Had that been a LSU pitcher, TD would be erupting from 15k coonasses.

I wish I could disagree with you. For whatever reason, baseball support is the worst.

I don't totally disagree with what you are saying. However, I'm not sure UT Baseball fans, that rank in the bottom of the league in attendance and really haven't been good at Men's anything should be the ones perturbed. We should probably get our own house in order before criticizing a program at the CWS...just saying...

If Tennessee was putting the caliber clubs on the field that Florida has, the people would be there.

There are Florida people that "care", but how do we define care.

They don't care enough to fill the park. They certainly don't care enough to travel.

I don't feel bad that we aren't as rabid as the LSU folks. That's a whole different fan base. But, Florida's fan support (considering the product they have to support) is really sad. It bothers me.

Not everyone has the money to do stuff. I don't. But, Florida has a large alumni base and is a heavily populated state. Surely, you'd think a few thousand people can show up for home regional games. And a few folks could make it out to Omaha.

Basketball is very hit or miss. With the success of that program the O'Dome should've been able to sell out a 20k seat arena but no way it would've have. The renovations last year actually decreased seating. Granted Thompson-Boiling arena is probably too big, however over the last 5 years alone the O'Dome couldn't hold our avg attendance and we've been terrible. Meanwhile, UF is coming off like 3-4 Elite 8's and has been outdrawn by UT by roughly 5k per game.

Like I said, I don't disagree. It's surprising, not just with UF, but VU too. I also agree that if we were winning like UF, VU, LSU etc...that Vols fans would come out...but we aren't, hopefully we will, but we aren't and I don't think it's right, even though it's surprising, to consider criticizing another fan base when you are as far away as possible from either performing at that level on the field and/or currently 13th in attendance in a 14 team league.
