They Could. It could help with walk ons I assume but that would still leave a lot to pay for with room books and boards.

I imagine that's what he's referring to. It opens up the possibility of getting some kids as walk-on's who might possess talents that are better than the typical walk-on.

Perhaps but I can't a see a lower income recruit that matters turning down other schools being able to put 5k in his pocket to go to Michigan and have to pay 10-15k per year.

Unless room and board and books have gone up immensely it shouldn't cost $15k. My room and board at UT 10 yrs ago was maybe $3k a semester. And as you said in your response above; "perhaps". All the OP said was this COULD potentially be a way around some scholarship limitations and possibly allow you to get some additional, decent talent. It may not do anything who knows. But you initially argued that it couldn't be used by football when in fact it can and in the way that everyone else was thinking; walk-ons.

Really all I was pointing out is that, in terms of 11.7, if Tennessee was able to do something like this, it would be a little help to some families. Often times it is discussed how much money parents already pay out with travel ball, showcases, etc...but not everyone we have recruited participates in those and not everyone participates at the same level.

This would not preclude them from taking other kinds of aid, whether it was athletic, academic, or other, it would be in addition. Because it's available to all students whose parents make less than $65,000, it could be used in the non revenue sports to help.

More importantly, this is the beginning of a new way of looking at things.

As our friend from Vandy said it has gone up a lot

Cry me a river hornfrogs make the gators look like chumps with great speed and a slide with the throw not in time narrowly and a ground rule double.

Hornfrogs 2-0 in top 3

Unintentionally sacrifice moves the runners.
The ball hit the front of the bat.

Runners 3rd and 2nd with 2 outs top 5.

Folks, I live in Baton Rouge, and am all-Orange, not a band-wagon fan of the Tigers, but the way my wife is hollerin right now, you'd think it was UT vs. the damn Gators ...

BGV, I wish you'd put more energy into finding the Cardinals some help in the bullpen!!

With a baby born at the start of baseball season and April-June being my busiest time at work I've not followed like I should (or would like). Heading up next weekend with my dad and brother for my dads bday and going back in August with a group from work. It's probably been 15 yrs since I've been to a game at Busch. Every time im in STL for work or pleasure they're away.
