NCAA FB Line discussion..(gambler thread)

Early thoughts just from a quick lookover:

UT +1.5 vs. Georgia. Well, heck, why not? Bray's certainly been more impressive than Murray this season and he'll be able to outthrow him with all likelihood, which should lead to an interesting 60-minute shootout.
Southern Miss +2.5 at Navy. I don't really get this one. Yeah, USM lost to Marshall, but they've beaten an ACC school on the road already (granted, it was UVA) and Navy was completely outplayed for 51 minutes (and OT) by Air Force in Annapolis. Plus, Austin Davis is still a great QB.
South Carolina -21 vs. Kentucky. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice...
Ohio State +11 at Nebraska. No, it's not because of anything OSU's offense can('t) do. It's mostly because if you haven't noticed, Taylor Martinez is still really terrible at everything not named running and Nebraska's defense looks nothing like the Blackshirts of '09 and '10. Don't expect OSU to win, but I could see a 5-7 point loss. Also, take the under. TAKE IT.
LSU -13.5 vs. Florida. Florida's defense can contain the LSU offense better than most can. However, a true freshman QB on the road in his first start at Tiger Stadium? Yeah...good luck with that.

Of course the only one I'd miss on would be UT.

I was thinking another thread, but figured I would just post here.

Only 3 NFL games ispired me to throw $$$ down today:

TEN +3.5 @ PITT
OAK + 3.5 @ HOU
BUF +3.5 (vs) PHI

I lost my parlay, but broke even with my only 2 straights yesterday. Here's to a winning weekend!

Honest question for Vol fans. How many of you took the bet against the Vols to win what looks to be easy money?

I would never bet on LSU to cover a spread.

However, betting Bama to cover against us will be sure fire. Rule #1 of gambling: keep your heart out of it.

Stuck in the library doing Astronomy notes, so I'll take a quick look and see what I can find...

Oklahoma -35 at Kansas. Yes, it sounds stupid. However, Oklahoma State led 56-7 over this KU "team" at halftime. Oh, and Oklahoma has a defense, unlike OKST. Can you say ugly?
Georgia -12 at Vanderbilt. I'm convinced all this Georgia team does after playing SC is cover spreads. Four in a row. Also, Vandy's offense LOLOLOLOLOL.
Michigan +3 at Michigan State. Heart over mind, but Michigan proved me wrong last week because my sixth pick would've been NW +6 vs. Michigan. Brady Hoke is the freaking man.
South Carolina -4 at Mississippi State. Something keeps telling me MSU's going to wake up eventually. I just don't see it being here.
USC -3 at California. Is everyone here going to hate this pick? Yes. However, Cal's best win is over a really really bad Fresno team and while their offense is statistically good, they've averaged 19 points in their two games against decent competition. USC by at least 10.

Whew! I thought Cal already blew my parlay on the last play of that game. Risked $7 for $2500.
Oregon -24
Boise State -21
Oklahoma -10
Kentucky +21
Iowa +4
LSU -14
Alabama -29.5
Stanford -29.5
Ohio State +11

Can I have a part of that?

This week has some gimme games IMO. South Carolina, East Carolina, UGA, Bama, and LSU would be a nice parlay.

Honesty, I took UGA this weekend and don't have any problems with it. It's money, it's "business". I bet most UT games because I am so informed about the program, I feel confident dealing with lines of their games.

I'm a die hard fan and will never wear opposing colors or use their Motos. But I will probably take BAMA and give points to UT when time comes. If UT wins, I'll be more than glad to accept a loss in money.

You may have an emotional reason not to bet LSU, but they are 4-1 ATS with one push this season. I'm up about $420.00 this season in all with either straight up or parlay bets with LSU. Last year however, I shared the same sentiment.

Alabama -26 1/2
East Carolina -16
Georgia -11 1/2
South Florida -8
Missouri -15
Temple -21
Oregon -16

Temple scares me, not sure I want to stick with them. I can never bet on Tennessee, because my glasses are tinted orange. Great way to lose money.

I play a weekly game with a bunch of guys from around the area. I've won twice this year (hope I don't jinx myself saying that) - won 8/11 last week. Usually around 20 play so it's always welcome to take home that pot. My picks for our games this week.....

Mich +4.5 @ Mich. St
South Carolina -13.5 @ Miss. St
Miami +3.5 @ UNC
LSU -23.5 @ Tennessee
Georgia Tech -10.5 @ Virginia
BYU +3.5 @ Oregon State
Oklahoma St. -9.5 @ Texas
Bama -24.5 @ Ole Miss
Virginia Tech -9.5 @ Wake Forest
Florida -3.5 @ Auburn
Georgia -13.5 @ Vandy

Sincerely hope I lose my LSU/UT pick but trying to pick with my mind and not my heart there. Was torn on a couple of the games, most notably Michigan/Michigan State and Wake/Virginia Tech.

I've rode Miami several times this year and I think they are better than their record and UNC is overrated just a bit. Can't believe the line we were given with South Carolina/Miss St - I really believe Miss. St will cover with ease here.

Also fairly confident in Auburn. They definitely are several notches down from last year but Florida is such a mess I can't see Auburn losing to the Gators at home.

For that matter, where on earth are you getting LSU -23.5 and SC -13?

seeing this had me running to check the lines. I thought no way in the world did these two lines moved that much in 10 hrs.
