NCAA Open Jobs Thread

If I were Herman or Fuente..I wouldn't touch the Missouri or USCe jobs..with Clemson up USCe isn't going to be able to get enough players to compete..I'd rather have the VT or Miami jobs...you can win at both those schools

Hopefully Tom Herman will stay at Houston since they're going to up his pay.

Herman would be foolish to stay simply because it's so hard to repeat an undefeated season like this one likely will be, but I guess I get it. Fuente needs to leave ASAP while his stock is as high as it is.

I think we can go ahead and add LSU to this list. That is going to be one loud and pissed off fanbase after today.

I think Fuentes stock has to be falling since Memphis has lost 3 games in a row with two blowouts.

some decent names on this list for North Texas job

North Texas: Per the Denton Record-Chronicle, coaches who have submitted resumes for the UNT head coaching job include Baylor offensive coordinator Kendal Briles, Texas Tech running backs coach Mike Jinks, Auburn running backs coach Tim Horton, West Georgia head coach Will Hall, Southern Utah head coach Ed Lamb, San Jose State defensive backs coach Donte’ Williams and Illinois college defensive coordinator Ray DeFrisco.

If i were West Georgia Head Coach Will Hall i'd rather stay at West Georgia than to go to the hopeless situation that NTS is.

Awful year to fire a head coach if you're ISU, unless you've got a secret promise from a really good FCS guy.

Updated list with Iowa State...12 open positions before the end of the year...gonna be a crazy December and January

USCe
USCw
Miami
Maryland
Central Florida
Illinois
North Texas
Minnesota-filled Tracy Claeys
Virginia Tech
Hawaii
Missouri
Louisiana-Monroe
Iowa State

I don't Schiano is a superstar, but boy I would be really trying to get him if I'm Miami or Maryland.

Look for Syracuse to open up soon

Syracuse: Following yesterday’s loss at NC State, Syracuse has now lost 8 straight games and for the second season in a row Syracuse only has one ACC win. In three years as head coach, Shafer has seen his team’s win totals drop from 7 to 3 to 3 (with one game remaining vs Boston College). Sources tell FootballScoop that members of Shafer’s staff believe they, as a group, will not return next season.

Would Les retire? He is 62 and doesn't seem like a great fit for TV

LSU: Les Miles met with school officials last week discussing his future, according to NOLA.com, with the conversation centered how and when the two parties would part ways. The coach reportedly discussed a possible retirement after the 2016 season, but the paper reports that idea wouldn’t sit well with many boosters. The money to pay Miles' $15 million buyout is there through private funds. Names that boosters are tossing around include Jimbo Fisher, Dabo Swinney, Gary Patterson and, yes, Jon Gruden

I think the only job Dabo leaves for is Bama. He's easily at a top 20-25 job in a P5 conference at a school that gave him his shot. There's absolutely no reason to leave. When he was the WR coach at Clemson he turned down an offer from Saban to return to Bama in the same capacity. He loves it at Clemson.

Guys like Muschamp and Chiz will get another chance at being HC with all these openings. Iowa State should be on the phone with WM asap.
