NCAA penalties will be?

I am sick of the completely uninformed people on here talking about"tip of the iceberg" and sanctions for football and basketball.

I will take a ban bet on whether or not TN is sanctioned for both programs. I say by the end of April we will know for certain that football and basketball are NOT sanctioned.

Football should be in the clear well before them, and basketball may be as well but they may drag it out which would be punitive in it's impact.

I don't know if it is or is not the tip of the iceberg, but people acting like what Pearl did was perfectly acceptable is absolutely sickening.

Relax guys. I was recently informed by a VN poster that we have nothing to worry about as far as the AA is concerned. Evidently they are simply an archaic institution-that in spite of recent punishments they have handed down-they are incapable of investigating and punishing an offending member institution.

From the football investigation thread:

But when it comes to the clowns of the AA, no real worry of them uncovering anything.

Honestly, I don't think anything too damning will come of this, but in light of recent events, I don't think anyone can just say oh the NCAA is too stupid to actually bust anyone for anything.

Yet I am saying they are.

They are inept. This basketball issue is related more to the lying.

You have to be reckless and stupid to get caught by the AA.

They are a very bureaucratic organization that is somewhat outdated and ineffective at making decisions in a timely manner. However, if they want to drop the hammer on you, they will. The only way to not be in trouble would be if you were completely clean. And if that were the case, you would suck so bad as to not be on their radar in the first place.

Lying to them about something they will find out anyway is pretty stupid.

:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:
The recruiting tactics are the same, I can assure you.

Recruiter X shows up at my school. He shmoozes me with all the benefits of joining his institution without my parents knowledge or consent. He tells me how good I am and how I will fit in, what my opportunities are, etc. He tells me why his institution is a better fit than Institution X, Y, and Z. Hell, he even offers me money if I sign on the dotted line.

Now you tell me. Is this a college basketball coach or a recruiter for the Armed Forces?

Apparently over texting and phone calls can lose you money. Or possibly having recruits over to his house for dinner and failing to remember it was the issue.

Go ahead and have your prediction...

I predict we do not lose a single scholarship and we are not banned from postseason play.

They will not find a lack of institutional control and the punishment dealt by the University will be deemed significant.

This is not a bag of cash to a recruit or a family member.

This is excessive texts...

NCAA will find more. expect loss of scholarships and at least one year post season ban.. may as well prepare

that was already decided. this will be the means to smoothly execute it

Larry you have been posting for months now that Hamilton is out. If it was decided prior to the Dooley season 1 I would like to hear the reasons...

Kiffin leaving cannot be the whole reason, fulmer's firing was enough to create plenty of enemies but why was it decided to get rid of Hamilton?

Why is stuff you shouldn't laugh at always the funnest?

This came up in a political philosophy class today. Historically, the obscene and taboo has been used in humor because it is generally unexpected. This is a fine example.

simply put, decision on Fulmer was up to MH and he had backing as long as he made sure it didn't end up a mess.

I don't think Kiffin deal was all his fault but doesn't matter what I think. I'm not in a position to have input...

NCAA looking at FB, Kiffin got rid of 30 players and then left in middle of the night leaving program short handed (as we saw Saturday). Its a mess.

Now with BB problems, execuse for action is clearly defined... FB problems likely as well before NCAA finishes their run....

BTW, I'm sure not privy to all the reasons. I just react to what I hear if what I hear comes down reputable avenues..
