Even without ND that would be a nice revenue bump for the conference.
If NE is for sure switching is there much doubt MO will be following? And if CO is also bolting, dooming the Big 12, were does that leave Kansas?
But cant that be reworked sometime? I mean even if they leave the Big12 then it will take a year or so to work it all out, in that same time could they not rework TV and $ sharing deals?
The Big East won't fold... At worst, they fold in football and stay around with the bazillion other teams they have for all other sports but football. Their basketball probably makes football money.
ND isn't going anywhere. They have all the money they need. It's not the most, but it's more than enough. They get to keep their own TV deal, and they get the sweetest deal in college football.
I think all it takes is Nebraska to say 'yes' to the Big Ten which I can definitely see happening. Missouri and Colorado add to that. The Big XII is the only conference in danger of folding here. I think it will.
Possible but who are you going to replace Colorado, Nebraska and Missouri with that even keep you almost as strong of a conference?
While TCU, Houston, and Utah or some teams like that may be decent at football now, they are not major college football players historically and make the conference much weaker.
