Needing prayers.

My father was 55 when he died (heart attack). I was in my third year at UT. To this day, I feel his absence. There are moments when my memory of him is as clear as if he was just standing before me. I am at peace with his passing. Life doesn't fill the gap. It does fill you with more to surround/accompany the space, the absence, and give you perspective. Live. Love. Be full throughout these mortal moments we have.

It's been a difficult few days. My best friend's dad passed away on Wednesday (and my friend's brother lost his father AND his father-in-law on the same day!), and a buddy of mine from graduate school texted me to tell me his mother passed away early this morning after having a stroke, breaking her back, and getting COVID in the hospital. They let her come home after two negative COVID tests, but hospice was there because she had other issues. He is grateful she is no longer suffering and died in her sleep.

2020 has been one for sure!

Sorry to hear all of that GC.

Yeah, it sucks. It's been a rough one for a lot of people.

I'm getting a webcam out of the box (my first one, never even taken a selfie, thought I'd need the cam for distance learning for when school starts back), and the buddy from grad school and I are going to try a video meeting here in a bit. He lives in Springfield, KY, and I'd go up there in normal circumstances, but they're not receiving friends because of COVID and it's a private burial.

I hate to hear this, I’ll pray for those families and you also.

Good words... we need to carry on, but hold on to the memories.
