New Arizona Immigration Law

don't do well with ignorance, sorry, especially one spewing from a hillbilly in cheatham country that has never once seen racial profiling going on in his life.

and welcome back SB... i've missed you spewing your SB hate

The irony is strong in this one.

Don't deny it, your a freakin hillbilly too.:)

The sad thing is had I not told him earlier that I grew up in his neighborhood he would likely have called me a hillbilly too because I reside in Cheatham County.

I liked this snippet:

"Prominent entertainers, including Shakira and Linda Ronstadt, also have spoken against the law. Some critics are calling for a boycott of Arizona, urging tourists to stay away and that no one do business with companies in the state"

Who gives a crap what Linda Ronstadt thinks? Shakira, shes not even a U.S. citizen. She needs to worry about the corruption in the Brazilian government

I laugh at the ignorance of those against this bill...considering it's the same freakin' law as the Federal law, only Arizona is choosing to...oh I don't know...actually enforce it. There is nothing unconstitutional

And please stop with the crap about profiling and just plain going up and asking people if they are legal....the police can only ask AFTER they have done something else. This has been stressed over and over and yet the oppenents just totally ignore this.

My goodness so much ignorance and bellyaching over something that's been a federal law for years. I guess it's a problem now that someone is actually trying to enforce it.

And if people like Shakira are so against it, then pray tell what is their solution? Go tell the Arizona people how to deal with illegal aliens driving up healthcare costs, cost of living, insurance, etc. You can't just make some flat emotional plea without addressing the problems caused by illegal aliens and who pays for them. And granting amnesty across the board doesn't solve the problem either.

The most ironic thing...is how Mexico treats illegal aliens.

So in a 12 hr. span, with the Commie News Network along for the ride. The deputies captured 50 illegal immigrates, and 1 ton of pot.

Would it be profiling to ask them for the legal "papers" under this scenario? Guess it would depend if they were traveling north bound or south bound huh.

This issue can be solved by doing a simple task. Evaluate what Mexico's policy is regarding people in their country illegally. After all, they felt the need to issue a statement calling the AZ law a violation on civil rights. I believe in borders, language and culture.

Agreed. I don't see why protecting the interests of your own people is considered racist.

Part of the reason for stiffer border security.

Arizona Pinal county deputy shot by suspected illegal - Monsters and Critics

I've read several acounts here is a summary;

The officer was shot with an AK-47 in the stomach but injuries were not life threatening.

The officer had observed some bales of MJ and then encountered five men and was wounded.

Several agencies pursued the suspects and helicopters of at least one agency were fired upon.

Rumor has it the increased traffic of illgal drugs recently was to supply the annual marxist day demonstrations being celebrated today accross America that commemorate the Haymarket incident in Chicago.

Just to put Cash Vallin's fears at ease, Arizona lawmakers have removed “lawful contact” from the bill and replaced it with “lawful stop, detention or arrest.” [Formerly, citizenship questioning could only be made after "lawful contact."] In an explanatory note, lawmakers added that the change “stipulates that a lawful stop, detention or arrest must be in the enforcement of any other law or ordinance of a county, city or town or this state.” Seems to further move away from any potential profiling.

“It was the intent of the legislature for ‘lawful contact’ to mean arrests and stops, but people on the left mischaracterized it,” says Kris Kobach, the law professor and former Bush Justice Department official who helped draft the law. “So that term is now defined.”

It's interesting, I don't see the usual suspects in here complaining about the U.S. government.

1. This is a state law, not a federal one.
2. A pretty obvious duty of any government should be protection from foreign intruders.

Agreed. The lives and well being of Americans citizens should be a higher priority for the United States government than trying to help illegal immingrants improve their lives. These people may not have the best quality of life in their home country, but feeding off the US isn't good for the US.

Their running out of stuff to claim "Civil Rights" on.

Which it never was about anyway. Amnesty and Open border is more their gig.
