I am going to restate my 3 rules for hiring a new coach!

#1 If I have to google his name to find out who he is.....he's not the right guy!
#2 If he has a losing record at his previous school......he's not the right guy!
#3 If he has a winning record at an FBS/Div2 school or a winning record at a lower echelon school like TEMPLE, East Carolina or LA. TECH.....he's not our guy!

Al Golden....not our guy losing record 40-45 record.

UT fans and alumni: We can't go down this road again, UT needs hire a big name football coach and pay Alabama/Texas type money and get a winner or just quit acting like we should be playing for SEC championships every year. To win you have to have a great coach that attracts the top players in the country, not the one's Alabama decided they didn't want! THIS IS TENNESSEE!

I dont want Al Golden either. I really dont! But if we decided coaches based off that criteria, we would lose. (Or Would have Lost in the past)

#1. Greg Roman
#2. Lou Holtz....Best case scenario Les Miles. 28-21 overall, 16-16 conference record, 1-2 in bowls at Oklahoma State.

#3. Brian Kelly and Jim Tressel

I know Kiffen had a losing record in Oakland with no Head Coaching college experiance. And Derek Dooley pretty much the same.

But, good Head Coaches are out there other than Al Golden and Jon Gruden........Bottom Line. It is Dave Hart's responsability to find them.

i agree..but from what i understand golden is the only one that got an interview so far, and my friend sent me a pic for the UT lockerroom today of where they have set up for a press conference...last time they did that dooley was hired....alittle fishy to me

The rumor of a press Conf. for Friday, sometome between 2-4pm. has been out there all week. Until you hear that from the school, you cant believe it. I know UT would love to make a splash before the SEC Championship game? Im with ya, I dont want Golden.

well there isnt any shortage of coaches. look at arakansas, they went striaght for the juggular of LSU and they still have a bowl game. so much for professional curtsy.

My bet for now is its Gruden and he is holding an offer of 5+ million plus bonuses, etc. I like Peterson if its not. Just my opinion. :hi:

TOS has a Gruden update but Im not a member. Based on the lone comment that they will allow you to see, it looks like money IS the issue.

with all the talk if they do hire a coach that isnt gruden, because of all the talk it will be like he has to fill grudens shoes not dooleys

hell get a loan, pay the man!!! if they do get gruden....SOLD OUT is all u ould say about neyland statium! the revenue andmerchandise sold will well cover the difference

know what scares me in all this? the irritation in Gruden's voice when that BS about himself, Haslam, and "a piece of the Browns" was addressed on Mike & Mike. Would hate to think that BS might turn him away from us. Funny thing was I saw a post about that on here a week before it hit the radio, and dismissed it as Horse....! But when I heard that interview, he sounded POed. Then a possible meeting between Gruden & Hart for this week is cancelled...BY GRUDEN! Everybody cut this crap out, if he still wants the job, it will happen. If he doesn't want it, then we gotta get behind someone else. But for God sake, don't ruin UT's chance to get a great coach. Gruden or otherwise.

i watch mike and mike every morning...when the asked himi was all ears, and the tone was obvious! if that was BS rumor, it was the BOMBSHELL of BS rumors

More like a bunch of stalkers after a swimsuit model. And I am half suspecting some of it is coming from fans of rival programs. Of course, we have our share of dumb fx here in Tennessee. I never dreamed THIS dumb.
