New Recruits/Beginning to Wonder...

Whats up with our early recruiting??

In mid April of this year a poll was initiated in this forum as to whether the posters here on VN thought that our recruiting situation was in good shape or not..

Out of approx. 450 voters 84.79% voted that the state of our recruiting was either in fine shape or too early to tell. Alot of you guys voted in this poll I'm sure. Has your opinion changed or not?

It's now 2 1/2 months later. Do you have the same confidence now as then?

For me, its like wearing hanes underwear, CDD makes me feel all under!!!! :blush2:

Besides the knocking a cop unconscious episode, this is the slow season. As this poll shows.

Hate to disagree, but its not so slow for UGA, Aub, Ole Miss and some of the other SEC schools collecting committments weekly. Not being negative, just stating a fact...

You may want to take a look at the recruiting services before deciding what is slow and for who... GBO...

Maybe slow for some but not all... (51 verbal commits in last 9 days per scouts) We're gonna get ours too....

See how many of those kids are still committed in Feb and get back at me. I'm done chasing stars and pinning my hopes on 17 year olds until they actually sign.

Just sayin'.

No one in the post has yet to mention anything about stars.. and your point about 17 year olds is mute. 99% of all recruits at this point are 17-18...

Don'y worry tre, be happy..GBO

I really believe these kids are waiting to see Tennessee play & Dooley coach. There is a great opportunity here for young players to come in and play immediately. But all the same we are on are third coach in three years, players have left and been players have been removed from the team. The Vols are in the worst shape they have been in some years. Lets not push the panic button quite yet. If the players and this coaching staff prove them self on the field I believe we will have trouble finding room on this team for recruits. :good!:

Bo, that's all you are - negative. Don't you think starting these stupid polls is showing that you have no confidence in the program? I'd have respect for you if you'd just come out and say it.

You live in a sitcom world. You want the beginning, middle and end all in 30 minutes. Dooley has come in, gotten very good talent to commit to us. We will not get 5* players this year. If we tried, we miss on the high 3* or mid 4* and then we would be in big trouble. He's coming in and getting solid talent and building relationships with the outstanding talent in the years to come.

Unfortunately for you, it is going to take longer than an "Office" episode.

There isn't any question recruiting is going well. We are getting guys we want at positions we need to fill. That is nothing but good news. Momentum is building and signs are good early that this staff can recruit with the best of them.

Im believing this more and more with each passing week

Who's getting ready to commit?:cray:

It looks like Martin and Crowder are committing at camp or shortly after.

Justin Coleman is committing on the 28th and told ESPN that UT leads 2 days ago.

Downs is certainly a possibility to switch his commitment especially if Crowder commits and he comes back for camp. It would make his 3rd trip to UT in a month.

Justice Hayes said today that he'll probably commit in the next 2 weeks and he is speaking very highly of the Vols. He should be in Knoxville for his visit soon too.

Kerbyson keeps saying he wants to commit this summer. He will be here for camp next week and has visited UT 5 or 6 times since February. The only other school he has visited is Duke.

i would love for us to get downs

i recall feeling pretty good before the fight incident. some more positive recruiting news would go a long ways right now.

That's solid
:clapping::clapping:

It's still too early to be concerned....we are in the running for some top prospects, I'm expecting it to be a top 15 class

Just for coversation purpose only! What if CDD has tremendous success here at UT over the next 5-7 years. What are the odds of him staying and becoming a lifer at UT or does he leave and go someplace else (i.e UVA or NFL)? He seems to me to be a guy that wants to stay in one place and settle down and have his kids grow up where ever he has settled.

That and Bryce Brown our number 1 rated back outta HS doing a spot on impression of Rickey Williams of the Miami Dolphins without marijuana no less. Things under Coach Dooley are a heck of a lot better than if these circumstances had happened under Kiffins watch, with CDD a credibility exists that protects the program to a degree whereas with the retodd at USC we'd have had the PR of Charles Manson.
