New TN Bill will allow you to kill robbers

What you describe here is already pretty much in the books.

TCA 39-11-611

(c) Any person using force intended or likely to cause death or serious bodily injury within a residence, business, dwelling or vehicle is presumed to have held a reasonable belief of imminent death or serious bodily injury to self, family, a member of the household or a person visiting as an invited guest, when that force is used against another person, who unlawfully and forcibly enters or has unlawfully and forcibly entered the residence, business, dwelling or vehicle, and the person using defensive force knew or had reason to believe that an unlawful and forcible entry occurred.

Basically this affords a huge amount of leeway (presumed to have held a reasonable belief) in use of lethal force against anyone that forces their way into you home.

Both of the instructors for the safety class I took for a carry permit were cops. They said if you shoot someone make sure he was in the house ... don't shoot and drag him in, they are smarter than that. They also said you will be sued. The other words of wisdom: two in the chest (bigger target) and then one in the head - don't be stupid about shooting them in the leg kind of thing.

Didn't you get enough of that in the Army? I guess at least the beenie weenies weren't canned during WW2. You carry a P-38 still? I keep one on my keychain.

It’s one of those things you don’t leave home without.

If your life isn't in danger and you shoot someone you are committing murder.

Its sad some people salivate at the chance to kill someone for a couple of dollars to play tough guy.

Definitely not anyone claiming to be a Christian can support this.

Quit robbing people thinking there will be no consequences. Tell thieves there’s nothing out there worth dying over.

New TN bill was just proposed that will allow a person to shoot a criminal on their property who are stealing from them whether or not their lives are in danger.

Currently, your life or someone else's life must be in danger to use deadly force.

With this new bill you life does not need to be in danger. You simply need to feel deadly force is required to keep your property safe.

Not gonna lie.....I like it.

You step on my property with intent to steal then you get what you get. Just walk out the house, pull the trigger, and then call the morgue to come get the body.

How's everybody else feel about this bill?

The downside could be a shop keeper could just shoot a customer thinking he was stealing. Bill needs tightened up a bit.
A head for an eye
