Yet, the police are not going to round them up yet. The mob is fickle. And this time the mob would be law enforcement. This would be just the kind of message the new boss would want to send. Round up a bunch of illegals in a very public way and ship them out. That would be a big “promise” kept and he would not have to do anything else his entire presidency because that’s the stunt everyone would remember. The negative press would not bother him at all as he’s not worried about reelection.
That is exactly the kinda stunt I expect from Trump.

This protest was essentially escorted by NYPD, and I don’t think the above is happening in NYC either way

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s unlikely……but……Trump isn’t scared to be strong handed and would definitely send law enforcement, like ice supported by locals, to send a message. If you think those same police officers would not gladly participate in a mass roundup then you have more faith in law enforcement than I do.
You live there now and I assume you lived there when I did. I am sure you remember when the police had a near zero tolerance for everything. I believe it’s unlikely that kinda thing returns but it’s definitely possible

I don’t trust law enforcement either and am sure Eric Adams would love to grant cops the same latitude they had in the ‘90s, but I’m very skeptical that anyone really wants this Kristallnacht in NYC where people that help drive the economy are just rounded up en masse and deported

I don’t trust anyone anymore. After the last 8 years, I’ve seen too much from both sides. Some things I never thought I’d see. Trump unencumbered by the need to be restrained by the thought of reelection is somewhat concerning. Add to the his recent rhetoric about helping clean up the city he loves …..(New York)……and there’s no threat, that I know of, from him that he would do this. We’re just talking about a hypothetical someone in this thread brought up…….I would not be surprised if something like that happened. It would be the most Trump thing ever.

So how many criminal illegal aliens is acceptable to be let in? 13000 murderers? 14000 rapists and others sex criminals? Terrorists, prison gangs ?
You want them to stay? What happened after ca. got prop 47? o.k. to steal under a grands worth of stuff. Products are under lock and key in many stores now. Not only in Ca. Ride the subway.
Also Remember there were minimal health checks and NO mandatory vaxes. People lost their jobs, but illegal border crossers , NO vax required. Biden’s open borders are bringing contagious diseases to your neighborhood

Fact: I’ve helped 2 individuals go through the system and become citizens. They both are small business people who employ people now. That was in the 90s. It’s also a fact that what they did can’t be done today and that’s the real problem.

The border was under control when biden took over. Remain in mexico and the parts of the wall built.`Biden "fixed it" The border is secure they said for 3 years as caravans streamed in. N.Y. dems did not care until they had to deal with it themselves.

All immigration should be suspended indefinitely until we get a handle on things. We literally had none from the 20's until the 60's and that worked out just fine.

I'm on board with this, and at the end of the day absolutely no one should be allowed to immigrate to this country if they are going to be needing any type of government assistance. They'll need to prove they can financially support themselves if they want to live here permanently.

Ya neither side does that. It’s status quo and both sides want the issue to exist so they can tell you they’re going to save you from it.
Both sides have had total control in my lifetime and both sides didn’t even attempt to address the issue.
If anyone was going to solve this problem it would have been solved.
