BREAKING NEWS: Daniel Penny Jury Deadlocked on Manslaughter Charge after failing to reach unanimous verdict

The Daniel Penny jury has announced it cannot reach a unanimous verdict on the most significant charge he is facing.

The jury today told the judge that they cannot reach agree on whether Penny is guilty of second degree manslaughter.

They are yet to reveal where they stand on the second charge - criminally negligent homicide.

The judge ordered them to return to deliberations, ruling they cannot move on to the second charge of criminally negligent homicide until they have acquitted Penny of manslaughter.

The prosecutors are determined to land a conviction of either of the charges, so much so that reps from the Manhattan District Attorney's office has been contacting journalists reporting on case to try to influence coverage of the proceedings.

It's a shame charges were even brought against him. If he's found guilty it will make that city even less safe as good people will look the other way, instead of stepping in to help innocent people for fear of being arrested for doing the right thing.
Exactly. The mind of the next person in this same situation: "Man, this guy is crazy. He is going to kill someone. Guess I need to quickly move to another car so I don't get involved and get charged unfairly for helping others out......sorry grandma!".

There is a lot of empathy with the shooter it seems.

I wouldn’t say empathy for the shooter as much as the total disgust for UHC's business practices under his leadership....

Their coverage denial rate is 2-3x more than any other insurer and this gap rapidly expanded with the now-deceased CEO in charge

Your bro was mentally ill. Your bro was high on drugs threatening innocent people w/their lives. Your bro was saying he was gonna kill some folks that day & was ready for jail.
