I disagree. If people stopped committing acts of violence, you wouldn't need near as many police. Everyone knows that single mothers are criminal baby factories. If you minimize the number of single mothers and do not sanction that type of activity, you will solve a large number of problems.

The primary reason for government to exist at all is to keep us from killing each other in dispute. If they cannot do that there is no basis for government to exist. That is done through laws and enforcement of them. When that enforcement is not judiciously and uniformly exercised, then you have societal breakdown and government is invalid.

Law enforcement can and has had a demonstrable role in reducing crime. An absence of law-enforcement has a demonstrable role in the increase in crime. I’m not seeing a debatable point here.

@Rasputin_Vol I'm going to have to agree with @NCFisher here. I think your point about "If people stopped committing acts of violence" is a good one but that just isn't going to happen on it's own as Fisher noted so it more idealism than realism.

I also agree that "single mothers are criminal baby factories" is where a lot of the crime comes from. The breakdown of the family structure. The lack of responsible parenting. The lack of accountability from males who are often the ones committing the crime then impregnates a woman to be another single mother birthing a kid who has a higher risk of being a criminal. It becomes a generational cycle. Let me be clear married families have problems with kids that go off the rails too and it clearly isn't just a race issue.

I'm not sure if you were making a case for abortion. I know that is a separate topic.
