First didn't know what "per day" means and now doesn't know what asylum seekers are, you should maybe read the article again. The proposed 17.6 billion to be sent to Israel is fine with you I assume? It’s 53 million dollars you ….edit….. just assume it was calling you something bad
Nobody cares about the hypothetical means of payment.
I also said 100,000 people which is also irrelevant to the 53 million dollars of taxpayer money being spent on illegals.
We can deport them all for less than 1 million
Who here is shocked that Daily Wire cut out the calculation of that being 35 dollars a day split among 4 peopleFrom the article:
The initiative will work like the state’s food assistance program, and illegal immigrant families will be instructed to only use the prepaid credit cards at grocery stores, convenience stores, and supermarkets. The cards will be refilled every 28 days, and families have to sign an affidavit promising to spend the credit card funds only on food and baby supplies. Funds on the credit cards will vary depending on the size of the family, but a family of four could receive up to $1,000 a month, according to the Post.
“Not only will this provide families with the ability to purchase fresh food for their culturally relevant diets and the baby supplies of their choosing, but the pilot program is expected to save New York City more than $600,000 per month, or more than $7.2 million annually,” Adams spokesperson Kayla Mamelak said.
The city has been shelling out about $11 per meal to feed migrant families in hotels,
So yes, the outrage over the credit cards literally is about the means of paymentIt’s 53 million dollars you ….edit….. just assume it was calling you something bad

I remember when this city was on the verge of bankruptcy once before. They got bailed out with bond purchases by the teacher's union pension fund and eventually money from the Fed govt. Probably do it all over again. You lucky American taxpayers, you!The city has spent more than $2 billion on the influx of asylum seekers into the city. That number is expected to balloon to $12 billion over the next three years and city council members attempted to understand why on Monday.
City officials provide little details on daily migrant spending

Despite the revised revenue projection, budget gaps are estimated at $1.30 billion in FY 2023 and $1.51 billion in FY 2024. Gaps swell to $7.07 billion in FY 2025, $10.22 billion in FY 2026 and $11.66 billion in FY 2027.
