I would think that with the age/experience of our team, anyone that would transfer because of fear of sitting on the bench sure as hell isn't gonna start at any major program. If they go to a D2 (or whatever they are calling the second tier these days) best of luck to them....

As of right now, we have 82 or 83 players on scholarship. We graduate 13 seniors. So if all of out juniors stay, we would only have 16 available tops.

Unless a lot of players leave the team, we won't be able to offer over 20 scholarships without going over the 85 total we're allowed.

We'll see a lot of guys seeking new opportunities in the next few months.

Nope. Heard Doug Matthews say it'll be 24 for 2015. Would've been a full 25 but we're giving Swafford a scholly which will count toward the 2015 class. So the number is 24.

Thanks, I thought with Hill transferring we had 20+ available. I guess I didn't realize how small our SR class was.

Swafford deserves it. We can't have over 25 initial counters. We still got many players to go.

He did quit playing so he could play volleyball. And it doesnt benefit UT seeing as his scholarship would be open after this season anyways

My theory is he would give up football and go back to something he is more competitive at like Volleyball. But he is getting his schooling paid for.

Ferg has no chance of starting this year. And by the looks of things, Gibson could end up a Vol next year, which is not good for Ferg. Things just might not workout for him at UT. It happens all the time.

Well, today is after the spring game, and as of today, Ferg is not the #2. It's Worley, then Dobbs. After that piss poor performance in the Orange and White game, Ferg is not ahead of those 2. It's just not happening and I'm not sure why some can't understand that.

You making the depth chart now? I don't know how it stands after the Spring game and neither do you. Worley and Dobbs clearly played the best in the O&W game, no ones disputing that. I was pleased to see those 2 play so well. All I'm stating is the fact that prior to the Spring game it was Worley and Ferguson.

Yea I emailed Butch and told him that Ferg was garbage and to play Worley, then Dobbs and he hit me back and said that was the plan. Sources, bro.

I hope we get Gibson and he become a quality backup for whenever Riley decides to take his talents to the next level...but Gentry signing will probably force a position change for TG...since I believe that Jennings is a better passer he'll end up the next Peterman...fourth man on the totem pole...Butch won't waste such a potentially good WR :thumbsup:

I don't care about Ferg. I don't care if he plays, I don't care if he doesn't. If he was good enough to be the starter, he'd be the starter. But he's not. And if Dobbs plays even a little this year and Ferg doesn't, Dobbs will be that much further ahead going into next season and Ferg will never see the field. I'm sorry if a lot of people are let down by the fact that he's not the next Murray, Tebow, McCarron, etc.., but I just don't see him being an impact player. I wish I was wrong and wish he was great and the obvious starter for the next 4 years, but it's really not looking that way, is it?
