A lot of BS in your statement. Speculation is what it is just speculation....Butch will get the recruits he needs to win at UT and class rankings will not matter....

Turns out Dooley's classes were actually overrated. Players getting an SEC bump because Tennessee was recruiting them.

Understanding the system is fine--but it doesn't make your players good. And however one wishes to describe this offensive line, it's almost certain that next year's OL will not be as good as this one. Our skill players will be better, but the QB situation could still be iffy, at best. We have to keep improving the defense if we hope to be remotely competitive next year and hope that Butch has some recruiting magic.

I'm not sure what is up with our O-line. They should be the most dominant in the country and yet they look just middle of the road. Maybe a change of players at the line might improve things, at least in the run game. We need some big mean streak type of players there and I think we got a bunch of big softies.

If we go 4-8 this year, season ticket sales and donations will crater. Neyland is likely to be half-empty if we continue losing in November.

Losing 8 games for the first time ever-- another record to the downside-- is something Butch simply can't do. He wouldn't get fired-- that would be insanity-- but fanbase negativity would be epic. Recruiting would suffer, digging us deeper. Gotta get 6 Ws, travel well and win a bowl. There's too much at stake.

If one is honestly evaluating the Tennessee football program over the last several years, then there aren't a whole lot of kind words to be said. So, yeah I don't have much respect for the Tennessee football program right now. Why would anyone unless they are lying?

But for a group that generally wants to be respected, it's amazing how little respect is given to South Carolina, Mark Richt, and a countless list of others who either beat Tennessee regularly or have given Tennessee all they can handle.

Even now, people are thumbing their nose at auburn, vandy, and Missouri as if any opponent can be chalked up as a win at this point in time. How fun have the last 3 trips to Kentucky been?

Some people still have the belief Tennessee can beat Georgia this year.

When Tennessee has a good team that plays good football, I will say so with no reservations

These players in most cases will NOT be replaced by guys with more talent. In almost every case they'll be replaced by guys without experience. The biggest DEPTH problem right now is that there are no quality back ups at some of these positions so when the starters are gone... In the cases where there are some quality back ups... there's no one behind them. The roster STILL gets thinner and weaker.

Of course according to some, recognizing problems or coaching weaknesses makes you less of a fan or someone who does not desire success... Oh well.

If Jones can't find more productive and ostensibly more talented players than Smith and Miller, he probably isn't the man for the job though.

Nice kids and what not, but those are two of the bigger busts in recent Vol history.
