I already had a copy of Moving Pictures courtesy of a friend so this was it. Still my second favorite band ever. I hope they decide to do a few live shows at some point so I can see them again.

The talent level of that band is off the charts. I saw the anniversary tour, I forget the year, back around 2003 in Nashville. The sounds that that band is capable of live is incredible. Pert is truly amazing.

Geddy is amazing as well. What other bass player plays the foot organ while trying to keep up with the most innovative drummer this world has ever seen?

For a three piece outfit without a backing band, the variety in their music is just astounding. Very underrated IMO. Although I've seen them a coupe of times, I regret not seeing at Red Rocks when we were in Colorado and I regret not seeing R40. :(

Red rocks. That's a bucket list. They had fire breathing dragons at the show. Yes, the fact that they are a 3 piece band is only fully appreciated when seen live.

Rush was my first concert.

Social Distortion show made me piss blood for a week.

One of my favorite shows I’ve ever been to was this one by a little known punk rock/indie band called Say Anything in a dingy, run-down part of Atlanta. About 1200 of us packed into this little basement the size of maybe 1400 square feet. More like mosh-swaying than an actual mosh pit. Lifted you off your feet every few seconds. Everyone pouring sweat and crowd surfing to the front to get on stage with the band only to be hurled off by security just so we could try it again. They played for hours past their scheduled time. Maybe the best 6 or 7 continuous hours I’ve ever spent on this planet. And their music is just okay. Raw emotion though. It was pure ecstasy.

Woody? How bout a weeping willow. I was tripping on acid at a pool party and climbed one and sat there for an hour or so. Got a big one in my backyard. Haven't licked a stamp and climbed it...yet.

Not a bad tree. Love them over a small pond or creek. Reminds me of my time in Britain.... Just outside Edinburgh. A quiet, cloudy day with nothing but the sounds of birds mingling with their own kind and the echo of water climbing over the same rocks they share their home with. The wind winding its way through each limb, casting each one about like ripples from the smallest of pebbles in the stillest of pools. My kind of heaven.

Ah, I remember the acid trip days. Of course, I have panic disorder so I have to be very careful with that stuff. It’s amazing I haven’t had a bad trip to date. But I gave up all the drugs a couple years ago. Once I got out of the hospital, I promised myself never again with anything illegal. But who knows what time has in store for us anyway?

Life is but the shipwreck of our best laid plans, my friend. All we ever have is the moment we’re currently inside. Which is to say, only those fickle grains of sand we so tirelessly grasp at with these clumsy, sealed fists of ours. The instant we realize any moment has arrived, it is passed and the next has begun. Freeze it if you can. Slow it down as much as possible. Fight with all you have against the inexorable and the inevitable. And lose with your chin held high, staring death straight in the eye. That’s all I know to do man.

“Nous ne pouvons qu’attendre et espérer”.
