I am just now listening to the new perfect circle lp and I must say Maynard hasn't lost his lyrical edge on criticising organized religion while promoting action instead of words, but the music has lost its edge. That edge, that choppy black rhythm, that insurmountable eloquent chaos that has been a signature of the band.
