NFL Draft Thread

I mean seriously, the Colts could have taken Aundrae Allison, Chansi Stuckey, or Johnnie Lee Higgins in Rd 3 or 4 and he'd do just as well as a slot guy. You don't use your 1st round pick on a #3 WR. CHris Houston, Marcus McCauley, Alan Branch, etc would have been better

No, actually you blasted everyone who disagreed with you on that. Telling why you think it is a good pick a slightly better argument.
OK, I thought mabye the Colts saw something we did not, I think most people on here are smart so no I am not calling them out.

Whoever gets C Ryan Kalil is getting a cornerstone C, much like NYJ did when they grabbed C Nick Mangold last season

We'll see about that.

Moorehead's career stats. The slot was one of the biggest needs for the Colts.

Gonzalez is an upgrade.

You're missing the point.

Is finding a starting DT or LB less important than an upgrade at the Z? No

Was there a possibility of finding an upgrade at the Z in round 3 or 4? Yes

I don't think slot is that big of a need. Moorehead is adequate, but the Titans have one of the best TE units in the league. A guy like Dallas Clark causes a lot of matchup problems, so they use him a lot. On the other side, they keep Utecht in to block and occasionally run routes.

I agree, I think an upgrade could have been found later. But Peyton probably wants someone with a guaranteed work ethic comming in, so I see why they went with the suppposed hard working Gonzalez. But they have glaring needs on D, so the pick, to me, is a head scracher.

I think most people would see them picking D, I thought the same.

Correct and because as they pointed out on espn he (Gonzalez) is a smart guy that will block. They said in the slot it is key to have a guy that can block and if he is smart willing to block and has the speed he has it seems like a good pick. Plus they needed depth with an aging MH. If he got hurt and they had no more depth they would be screwed.
