I think he doesn't say that very often, if ever really. I think he understands that staff can only do so much to get you there, it's more about personal desire to become great that gets you over the top. I think he just wants kids to come to UT because of UT. NFL is just a reward of that hard work.
They can coach them, teach them, and encourage them EVERYDAY, but if the prospect thinks that his talent alone will get them to the NFL, then they are going to fall flat on their face.
Both posts are about the prospects taking it upon themselves to become the NFL type player they want to, if not they won't make it on talent alone. What contradiction are you talking about?? The one you are trying to spin in there like usual??
See the contradiction?
Coaches have nothing to do with developing talent but guys that expect to get by on talent alone will fail.
That makes no sense at all.
Ok, here's the crayon explanation....
If they think that they can just coast through on their talent and not work as hard as the next guy, they won't make it in the NFL, let alone till their senior years. Coaches want talented players, but they don't want lazy talented players who don't set a good example for those kids who are are trying to work their butt's off and get somewhere, on the field and off.
Is pointing out Tebow performing circumsions seems odd for a guy that didn't pursue a degree in the medical field?
What? You're saying the difference at Florida between what Meyer and Zook got out of the same guys isn't simply that some magic inner light came on for those guys when the coaching change happened? That's crazy.
