Nichols committed to Memphis?

As for Luke Cothron, that guy has to run out of eligibility someday. As far as I can tell, Cothron is from Alabama, played at two different North Carolina prep schools, committed to NC State, signed with Auburn, enrolled briefly at UMass, played six minutes in one game for the University of New Orleans, went to Southern Idaho for a season, and now is moving on to Northwest Florida to play for Steve Forbes. He can't have more than one season left, can he?

He's listed as a sophomore this year...

I don't know that it was Nichols...if I had to guess from everything I've been told by multiple sides of the equation...

Austin wanted to come to UT, Austin informed the staff he was coming here and mom and dad let that ride. When it came down to decision time though, it was either dads way Duke, or moms way Memphis..and seeing as how he didnt feel at home at Duke, and doesn't want to be that far away, the decision was easy.

Sounds like mommy and daddy still make his decisions for him to me. Good grief. Gotta grow up sometime!

Actually it should be the reason they do want to come to Knoxville. To get the heck out of Memphis

They live in Memphis. They like Memphis. They don't want mongoloids like you telling them that their home is a sh--hole.

Next time you run into Jarnell Stokes in Knoxville, make sure you tell him what you think of his home and enjoy it while he powerbombs you.

I read that also.Maybe Hubbs is backpedaling now that he sees Tenn isnt getting Austin and J3 like he thought they were.

I don't think that Hubbs would be going to Memphis. The main reason that he eliminated Memphis early was because of the crowd at the position (so he told Pastner).

You know deep down you're glad you don't live in that armpit anymore.

That'd be odd since Memphis didn't have a single committ when he eliminated them.

They had 2-3 guys playing the position before any commits (it was known at the time that Geron Johnson had commited, just not that he would qualify). Maybe odd but those were the words out of his mouth. I'm just saying there's almost no chance he would go to Memphis. If you want to argue that, go for it.

Hubbs shouldn't be worried about playing time almost anywhere but he most likely wouldn't start his FR year at Memphis.

Hubbs would start at Memphis from day 1. If you think otherwise you don't know much about basketball.

You're right. you know much more than I do.
He'd be a starter over Geron Johnson and Chris Crawford when they are both seniors? Don't think so dude. He'd get lots of PT but he wouldn't cause either of those guys to ride the bench.

Hubbs > Crawford and Johnson combined.

Yeah, you're right. Whatever you say dude.

If I remember correctly, Chris Crawford was heavily recruited by UT and was a UT lean. Both will be seniors next year and have D1 experience on any freshman that comes along. Have you ever seen or heard of Geron Johnson? Find some video footage.

I never said he wasn't a fantastic player and that he wouldn't play (a lot). This is all a 'what if' anyway. I think the vols got a great #2.

No I agree, he's not interested in Memphis, I was just saying it wasn't because of a lack of PT. there were 0 2013 recruits committed when he eliminated them...

And I don't know your roster, or what you'll return, but seeing as how Hubbs is the best player in Tennessee id think he'd start at the 2 or 3 for ya.

Are those your starters at the 2/3? Kind of surprised to see their height at 6'3"&6'4" respectively...I just assumed being all the long athletic talk your guards would be bigger, especially your 3.

Makes me feel better about those saying Memphis will out athlete us, our length could cause them some problems on the wings.

Nope, I didn't think I mentioned the 3. when I said 2-3....meant 2 to 3 guys, not position. Crawford, Johnson and Markel Crawford will most likely play the 2. Chris Crawford played some at the 1 last year. It would be unusal to see either at the 3. You'll probably see Iverson, King and Wilson (assuming Thomas is gone) at the 3.

I live in Dyer Co and have seen Hubbs play many times.Probably could have scored more the past several years but he had some very good players around him in Yarbrough and Hudson etc.I think Hubbs would play a lot but don't think he'd start.I thought Nichols may be tenn bound in a way because of the sister ,supposedely wanting to play with Hubbs, his girlfriend at Tenn and Dad liking Tenn Actually thought with Hubbs going to Tenn, maybe his family makes a move from Dyer Co,with his Dad being a coach, thought it would be easy to get a job with Hubbs going there.Thought maybe if they were great friends, maybe the parents also have become close and possibility of maybe the Nichols staying there instead of motels and having to travel.iBut then I thought maybe Memphis because he grew up being a Tiger fan.Went to Midnite Madness.Mom is a Memphis Alumi. I believe his family sat down, talked about all these scenarios about his sister, girl friend,Dad liking Tenn, maybe how the teams played, was it favorable to Nichols?Mom being a Tiger graduate, can come home and sleep, eat mom's cooking, closer for his parents and maybe other relatives for him at Memphis. etc. Then i think the final question was .What do you want? What is your heart telling you?I think he was torn but that's what happened. As for Hubbs.Believe he is still Tenn bound.But...still only about just a little over an hour away from Memphis. And now not the team he thought was coming with him as far as Nichols,J3 and teaming up with Stokes who may be gone next year.Would worry until he actually signs. With Austin being from Memphis, probably be harder for him to change his mind. With Hubbs not playing with some of the players that he thought he might, and a lot farther away for his parents.I'd still be a little nervous even though he cut himself and he was bleeding orange.

Another thing about Hubbs.I can also see him keeping his commitment even without those others going.Liking Coach Martin and he is the kind of person that doesn't run the streets.Parents keep a watchful eye and he is supposedly a very good kid.A gym rat.

Hubbs tweeted that he cut himself and bled orange and not wanting Tenn fans to worry. And with the type person he supposedely is.Still would be wary until he actually signs which I think he will do.But still cautious?
I can say with 100% certainty. Hubbs ain't going nowhere. That is all.
