Saban also had to deal with scholarship limitations carried over from his predecessor's shenanigans.

But, by all means, feel free to pretend that the mid-90s Big Ten was on par with the late-00s MAC or the early-10s Big East.

Could be that his team beat #1 Ohio State in 1998. Or Maybe that he beat Ohio State and Michigan in 1999. Also could be that he was building a solid winner at a time when Michigan and Ohio State were National Title contenders.

Also, Northwestern, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Purdue were winning 8-10 games in that stretch.

So yeah, they knew.

Good question.

Butch has already beaten one ranked team in his first year.

Saban finally beat a ranked team in his fourth year. Granted it was OSU and they were #1 but it took him 4 years to do it.

Kinda backfired didn't it?

The Big 10 was arguably better than the SEC during Saban's tenure at MSU. The SEC was Florida, Tennessee, and ten teams that ranged from mediocre to embarrassing.

You still didn't answer my question. I didn't ask when you would be "ready for a change". I asked you how many games Butch needed to win in a season before you would consider it a "good season". We've already established that you believe 6 and 7 win seasons were not "good" seasons when Saban had them, so I'm wondering AGAIN how many wins Butch needs here before it is a "good" season, in your own estimation, using the same standards by which you declared all Saban's winning seasons at Michigan State, save for the one where he finished in the top 10 nationally, were "mediocre".

Yea. Couldnt agree more. Just posted the thread for a friendly debate with some fellow vol fans. Over the years Volnation.com has progressively gotten worse. But I'll continue to come on and read threads posted by guys I know are good posters on here. Freak made a great site...its just been taken over by some of the worse fans.
